Mortal Kombat changed my life.

We were truly fortunate to have lived through all of this during our childhood and to have enjoyed this saga from the very beginning. Thanks, Ed, John, John, Dan, and the rest of the team.

If John Tobias was in charge of the Mortal Kombat franchise, Outworld would still have purple skies 😔

MK just changed my life in so many ways. I am 38 year old woman now, but still play and watch MK, now with my kid, used to write poems about MK characters, even wrote a book at 13 years old. That's how insirational MK was for me. Dear Ed Boon and John Tobias, thank you so so much for inventing this game. It became a whole generational phenomenon! You don't even know how many people were affected by it (in a good way), how many people went into martial arts after playing the game or watching the movie! This legacy is forever because we are passing it to our kids now.

I never had a good relationship with my father or have many good memories with him. He hasn't passed away we just don't talk or see each other anymore. I do remember when MK4 came out though. Our local arcade sent us a flyer in the mail that said "Come play the new Mortal Kombat... IN 3D!!!". I wish I still had that. I was 8 years old and a huge Mortal Kombat fan. My father pulled me out of school one day and surprised me by driving me to the Arcade and playing the game with me. I now own a MK4 arcade machine and every time I boot it up I think about that day and it's one of my most cherished memories.

This guy right here changed our childhood lives forever. He will always be remembered as a legend

That eerie/Gritty look Jon was talking about is what I miss from the new games. The new games seem to shiny, colourful and cheerful at times. I miss that dark vibe mortal kombat used to have.

Growing up with everything they mention here just makes it feel so good to be an MK fan!

Everyone has a story about where and when they first saw Mortal Kombat, I love that. It’s something we will all remember until the day we die. What a franchise, so happy I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s, MORTAL KOMBAT FOREVER!!

I am 44 years old. I first encountered the Mortal Kombat game on the SNES console in 1993. It had a unique atmosphere and although it was bloody and very aggressive, it was more about skill and endurance for me. I was 12 years old then. 32 years have passed since then (jesus, it's scary to think about it). Countless parts of it have been released on many consoles and have evolved with us. I currently play MK X, MK11, MK1 on the PS5 console. Even after all this time, it still makes my heart beat. A piece of my childhood is always with me and it feels good to start fighting with familiar characters again and again. Thank you Ed Boon.

I remember the first time I learned about Mortal Kombat and then saw it myself. In orange county, at Bullwinkles, my uncle saw it. He came back to my grandma's house and told me and brother all about it. Then a few weeks later we ended up there, it was one of those showcase cabinets. I was only 8 years old. So awesome to see it after hearing the stories from my uncle. MK forever!

Almost 35 years later, the original trilogy is easily the most memorable and iconic things about the franchise. The first 3 years had more impact than the following 30.

Yes, I remember the day I saw Mortal Kombat for the first time on a machine, and it is one of my special memories.

Mortal Kombat has changed my life so much. I was introduced to it because I found my cousin playing as Johnny Cage, and he offered for me to play MK9 with him. I chose to play as Johnny Cage, and I ended up winning against him and performing a fatality. No matter what iteration of MK it is, I share fond memories with it. I love the series a lot and it has opened me up to loving fighting games.

MK3 Sub-Zero's bio/ending definitely made my imagination go wild with the most epic/dramatic storytelling possible. Sub-Zero unmasking himself in protest of his clan, evading his cyborg pursuers, bromancing through Smoke's programming to get his ally back and defeat Sektor/Cyrax, it was all-consuming at the time. Then a couple years later we had Mythologies and MK4 go balls deep with Sub-Zero, what a time for fans of the character.

The only thing us fans need is John Tobias back in the game... No more mistakes.

7:50 "we wanted bigger stakes and bigger bosses" until we got to mk1, then we dropped both completely

Once this kollection releases, this footage will be watched over a BILLION times.
