could you IMAGINE the trauma the families felt seeing ppl on halloween night walk around dressed as the person who murdered their loved one? that’s disgusting.

This is why documenteries exist, tragedies like this should be explained without the dramatization of a usual tv show.

The ironic part is when you actually look at serial killers the vast majority are dysfunctional losers.

Fetishizing serial killers is really REALLY crazy...

When an actual murderer talks about how bad a show about their own murders is that’s….that’s something to accomplish….

The mother didn't just let it happen, she sexually abused them as well, (though she was more focused on Lyle while the dad was more focused on Erik) she literally had pictures of their privates. There was also medical files that aligned with sexual abuse. The first trial had a hung jury, and in the second trial none of the evidence for the abuse was allowed to be brought up by the defence.

' When I get brutally murdered just for a true-crime youtuber to say I was "unalived" via "pew-pew" with a "stabby- stab" and then my killer gets put into a "Top 10 serial killers with the most aura" slideshow and the comments are filled with girls saying "Why he kinda..." '

Ryan Murphy is the real monster. If he tried to turn my family's trauma into entertainment, claiming it's actually a favor to us, it would be my villain origin story. Really? It's a favor? Then, give ME the proceeds from the show. Oh, you're not going to do that? Then, it wasn't ever for me, was it??? He's a terrible person.

Let’s not forget the plethora of “dark romance” about serial killers who star as the main love interest for the FMC that they stalk and terrorize but it’s okay because he’s hot…

Netflix's "Monsters" is more like a Wattpad fantasy than a real life drama

As someone studying forensic psychology, I can’t get behind shows like Monsters. There’s no real purpose in turning real crimes into entertainment, especially when the victims’ families are still alive.

If I want to understand a case, I’ll read books or watch documentaries  ,not reenactments that glamorize killers. Calling them “monsters” doesn’t help either; they were human, which is what makes their crimes horrifying. We need to understand why people do these things, not sensationalize them. Imagine in a few years if someone made a realistic reenactment of something like a school tragedy — showing the perpetrators’ final days or what happened after. No one would be okay with that. Netflix needs to stop romanticizing real violence — it’s unnecessary and disrespectful.

Comparing the Menendez brothers to serial killers is ignorant at best

I do hate how people just simply don’t remember that the victims were real people who had their lifes

I am a funeral officer (not in the U.S., we have no morticians) and about a year ago I handled a major case. A young woman who was t0rtured, r4ped and cut to pieces. The pieces were found all over a lake. Also I have to add that these kind of cases are extremely rare here, so it was a shock. Anyway, I sat several hours with her mother and uncle, discussing the funeral arrangements, explaining for the 4th time why they cannot see her again, because they could not comprehend she is not in a shape to be seen. They could do nothing but bury her. She has children. After the funeral they had to face the disgusting man in court where every moment of the woman's torment was made public.
The idea that they made some series about that man and viewers were drooling all of him, knowing exactly what she went through, makes me FURIOUS! And I'm not even the one who lost her loved one like that! This is so f*g disgusting!

I do like learning about serial killers, but I have never romantized them.

Turning a victim into the lover of their killer makes me sick. That’s insane...

I’m so tired of this trend that tries to excuse murderers by blaming “a cruel society,” as if that somehow makes them relatable.

No!!! People have choices. They chose to kill. It wasn’t a moment of weakness or blind emotion — it was a decision. A plan.

Yes, life is cruel. Many people had horrible childhoods. But they didn’t turn into monsters. They fought to stay kind, to stay human. And every time we glorify killers, we trample on those people-the ones who suffered just as much, yet still chose compassion over cruelty.

People think evil LOOKS a specific way. Psychologically, humans are more likely to ignore red flags when a person is attractive.

At least Dahmer was semi accurate to the events. Gein is just straight up fan fiction

I have all respect for therapists and priests whom approach criminals with compassion and try to help them, but that is a job for specialists, not fanbases or entertainment.

Nah the serial killer coloring book is DIABOLICAL 😭
