This is exactly what Mizuki feared... to be treated differently. It's really sad to see this happening to her even if she's fictional, it says a lot about some people :((

Everytime someone calls mizuki a boy a angel gets their wings ripped apart

What a great day to not have tiktok

I always will find it odd that transphobia is so common in project Sekai, a game that uses songs using vocaloid is somehow the least accepting. Vocaloid is one of the most "woke" communities as a lot of producers make songs about themselves and were  kind of considered outcasts by the general public. Mental health still has stigma in Japan. It's why we have so many songs that are really sad or cover sensitive topics. We literally had one case of someone trying to make a transphobia song and they were mocked heavily (not mentioning the producer as he was caught harassing people a lot)

Then we have pjsk, the game where for some reason people can not accept certain things about vocaloid and it's fandom and just ignore anything that confirms it. Villian is literally a cover in the game.

Same thing applies to homophobia but it's so much less when compared to the amount of transphobia. I'm also not denying that there are transphobia people in the Vocaloid community, the difference is that they don't openly express it as much as pjsk. Unless it's twit, producers will express it there... It's always called out though.

the umamusume fandom is another example of this, it gets so bad sometimes and I feel like I can’t enjoy it without someone saying something overtly sexual about one of the CLEARLY high school aged characters
especially as an acespec person who is pretty averse to sex in general

Mizuki is the only character on the main wikis that had to have her page locked for vandalization

I'm sick of how the fandom treats mizuki, and her entire story goes against what those kinds of people think of her and it makes me just want to yell at them

Oh... that's sexualization of my daughter... (Mizuki)

Thank you SO much for addressing the disgusting behaviour some ppl show towards Mizuki (and mizuena too!), like I LOVE Mizuki and mzen sm but I HATE how normalized it has become for them to just draw them...yk, honestly this was the entire reason why i stopped using twitter and tiktok in general (hopefully there might be some hope for our fandom to improve but until then stay safe soda!! <3)

Im a ftm crossdresser. The only counterargument to “mizuki was terrified when she was called a boy” was that “oh well uhm they just didn’t want their friends to know their secret!!” And i guess its an alright counterargument, but when you think about it for two seconds it falls apart. Why would she tell n25 she was a girl then? What would be the point? Why would she ask the whole school, who knew her previously, to refer to her as a girl? It just doesn’t make sense, and I would react ten times worse to my friends finding out i was trans than my friends finding out i was just a boy who wore skirts.

I never knew people treated my goat Mizuki like this that makes me so sad

thank you SO much for talking about this. I’ve been a big proseka fan for years and it’s always made me so so uncomfortable to see the characters that are canonically high schoolers being so heavily sexualized.. but i know that the people who do this are so dead set on doing it that it’s impossible to change their mind. i’m around the age range of proseka characters, and it makes me even more uncomfortable seeing characters around my age being treated in such ways. thank you so much for bringing light to this

as a mizuki oshi and an trans guy ,, this video highlights the issues w the fandom so well !! I’ve seen WAY too much sexualization of the cast even back when some of them were STILL SIXTEEN which is.. just ew ,, and especially for mizuki which is genuinely just disgusting ,, making sexual comments about a trans MINOR and fetishizing her is plain gross and it’s been WAY too normalized in this fandom. mizuboy believers are also a really big issue which is like… how ??? just because she didn’t explicitly say “ im a transgender woman “ in the story doesn’t mean she isn’t a transgender woman ?? have we heard of show don’t tell ?? the lack of media literacy these people has astonishes me ( also side not but I really like ur voice !! it’s really calming )

What makes me sad is that the characters are literal children. 17 is still a child. “Almost an adult” SO THEYRE STILL A KID 😭

As a Pjsk fan myself I already knew that the fandom especially the shippers can sometimes be weird af but JESUS CHRIST

I also want to mention the time I saw a 33 year old pjsk artist draw a NSFW commission of Mafuyu and Airi. I had followed them for mainly drawing Mafuyu and Mafuyu is my favorite character of all time but it made my stomach twist to see a grown ass adult draw NSFW of highschoolers. This was on Tumblr.

Yes those characters are not real but I think the way someone treats a character because they're fictional hence don't have consequences do speak volumes about them as a person.

This is exactly why I stay away from twitter and tiktok… ppl are so weird about these teens like </3 I hate how mizuki, tsukasa and rui seem to be the main victims of this, but it’s def gotten a lot worse with mizuki and sometimes ena after mizu5
Some ppl are just so weird…. 😭 thank you for talking about this because these weirdos NEED to be called out

A lot of the fandom is under 18, so it's fine for them to be attracted to characters but NEVER to post nsfw of them, and if someone is a full grown adult saying that stuff then it's just plain  creepy... As a minor in this fandom, people sexualizing the characters makes me uncomfortable.

7:19 nah she’s literally one of the characters that are the most of afraid of intimacy ever 😢😢 i hate it when she gets treated like this

Thank you so much for talking about this issue!
The amount of transphobia, sexualization and misogyny in the PJSK fandom is insane (especially on the Russian side bruh..)
I’m Russian myself (also trans) and I’ve seen so many Russian speaking people on TikTok try to argue that Mizuki is a “femboy” like their life depends on it. They genuinely ignore Mizuki’s story and say that she can’t be trans because that’s perpetuating gender stereotypes, aka “boys can’t wear pretty pink dresses” which is just so wrong omg
Queer people in Russia are illegal, but lgb side of the lgbtq+ community is more acceptable on the internet for some reason, I really hope trans people will get more recognition and support in the community because the amount of bigotry I’ve seen is absolutely disgusting
