did someone say bake no hana

another thing i always viewed the importance of mizukis underlayer and her outfits only colour being red was due to the fact that red is a more "masculine" shade of pink, representing how she still wants to be cute and herself while also being distorted by the fact that she was born male

other points ive noticed about the MV that im not sure if you've pointed out yet idk i havent finished in the mv section
in the character zoom ins where the characters glare, the members of nightcord look down as if looking down on mizuki, while mizuki looks up
during the verse before the first chorus the members cover one of their eyes, as if they cant view mizuki the same way anymore, while mizuki covers her mouth, as if she has nothing else to say to them
also i personally viewed the MVs artsyle as being akin to the style of fashion sketches, but less abstract and more distorted, the sharper edges, the sketchy shading in areas, which has parallels to mizuki, due to her love of expressing herself through her clothes ASWELL as creating clothes herself, while also focusing on the artsyle, which has ties to ena due to her being an artist

also another thing i love about bake no hana as a comm is that out of nightcord mizuki is like "least likely" to have a "scary" comm, due to her being more happy an joyous, but mizuki being the first nightcord member to actually have a comm thats more ominous shows how much mizukis hides and shelters herself and has the most hidden fears about her

would like to add that for the event cards:
idsmile - female and male mannequins, the male ones being knocked over
bake no hana -  female mannequins and male mannequins, both clearly visible and the male ones are further back too
in addition even if it wasnt mentioned other that one time
kazatte (mizu6) - no male mannequins present. only female mannequins with flowers inside them like bake no hana, but unlike bake no hana the flowers are blooming, and are different flowers aswell? i cant tell

wow can you tell im obsessed with the mizu6 set

i just wanna say that in mizuki's trained card theres a masculine mannequin behind a see through feminine mannequin, representing mizuki's secret/the fact she has been outed :3

I read Kaito’s card as him being frustrated with himself for not being able to help in this situation. In his mind he should have done better than that and involved himself sooner like he did with Mafuyu. Now Mizuki has completely shut herself out and Kaito literally can’t do anything anymore. His expression also looks more pained and upset than his usual anger. Looking deeper, the card untrained is him angry at Meiko for not telling him what’s going on so he can help. It’s also during the event. While the trained card is after the event and he’s now upset with himself for his inaction and that Mizuki is suffering now because of it. (Regardless if it’s true or not. I’m looking at the story from Kaito’s perspective here.)

My theory why Mizuki won’t get a ‘cellphone love story’ alt cover is because she has an alt vocal of ‘gehenna’ to parallel ena. Ena is saying with her alt vocal of ‘cellphone love story’ that she would always try to reach out to Mizuki and help her while Mizuki in her alt vocal of ‘gehenna’ she is lamenting about how she doesn’t want live in this cruel world but there is something that is grounding her to this place and that is the red thread of fate connected to Ena. Ena is the reason Mizuki is atleast trying to stay here and it helps. So that is why Mizuki would never get an alt vocal of ‘cellphone love story’ and Ena won’t get one of ‘gehenna’.

7:16 The talk about her 4-star card in the Kamikou festival event and the ribbon and scissors. I wanted to point out the fact that Mizuki is holding the scissors by the end rather than the handle. I think that this is Mizuki finally not cutting people off any more like she used to do in middle school and is actually going to accept them to be next to her and be her friends. She trusts them.
In short, Mizuki is holding the scissors by the end. That's the way you're holding scissors when you're about to hand them off to someone or when they're not in use. The untrained version of the card, that smile on her face. She's not about to cut the ribbon, she's savoring it and the friendship
This might just be me going crazy and overthinking (again) but I just wanted to point that out

I wanted to add something to the red strings thing. I’m not insinuating anything but literally the theme of strings (this time in general) is something very present in Nightcord’s symbolism, first appearing in Mafu1, where it was implied that Mafuyu was like a puppet, and that she was attached to strings (that simulated her mother manipulating her?) and in that case it has a completely different meaning than the “string” that unites Ena and Mizuki, or maybe not because Mafuyu’s symbolizes the bond with her mother, which although it is destined not to break, Mafuyu ends up cutting it (as I noticed in the cards of the event where she runs away from home, where all the girls are surrounded by strings, I won’t go into that further, but Mafuyu is like finally cutting the string that bound her to her mother). Another point is that the red strings are also connected to the virtual singers of the empty sekai, since they all play cat's cradle and it's as if it symbolizes that they are there observing the girls' bonds, also in Meiko's original costume, she has a red string tied to her right arm (I think?) and so does Luka, and although as I said at the beginning, I don't want to insinuate anything, it could symbolize that kind of 'bond' that the two have, despite how badly they get along? A relationship that I just unintentionally compared to that of Mizuki and Ena because despite Mizuki making jokes on Ena, the two get along, but I won't go deeper into the subject, I think I'm going off on a tangent... I must say that I love seeing your analysis and I admire all the effort you put into looking for information.

54:13 also another thing, one of the eyes being a different color might mean that Mizuki is 'different' from others (an outcast basically)

The ominous bell tolls
soon there shall be harmonious bells

Something I never thought of but props to you for leaving the discussion of mizukis gender for the people who have already fought that battle along with not feeling like your in a position to discuss it because your cis!

now I have the perfect video to watch while eating dinner tsymmmm 🙏🙏 actually tho these videos are so well done im always shocked by the amount of effort and care put into them. I love deep dives, and the fact that I can watch super good ones for a relatively niche game i love is just-wow. so great. These videos are amazing you’re literally so cool

14:51 Student A&C: It might seem crazy what im abt to say~

I don’t know how to say it but every single one of your videos are like so so so so precious to me and I don’t understand why this channel isn’t more popular

Just watching the event story makes me bawl my eyes out. Literally one of the most important things I have ever read period. Mizuki is one of my fave fictional characters from a form of media ever, and as someone who is nonbinary and under the trans umbrella, her feelings are so poignant to me. I am forever grateful for the love and care they put into her

57:00 I've always loved this part because Mizuki saying 'If that's so (If you are gonna look at me that way/treat me like this) then dissapear, everyone should just dissapear' is said  suddenly after Kaito's part which is just with a mild tone. When Mizuki says that part the song becomes distorted again. It really manages to make you feel it is said in a panicked way, not actually meaning it (as she says stay with me later) but in that sudden moment it's her instincts as she was and IS scared, as she lived through things like this many times, assuming niigo is going to see them weirdly too (or just basically paranoia). Go away is said three times as she's pushing all of them away but she doesn't actually mean that (I think the dreamscape live (?) did the choreo so well, as she says dissapear each time, she puts her hand on her mouth. It really manages to show that she doesn't actually mean it but rather she was panicked.) She says stay with me later on, in almost vulnerable like tone? compared to the "If that's so dissapear". And the gentle tone after it really makes you feel there's hope, the tune feels undefended but suddenly it becomes violent again and the panicked tune comes back, ending it with in a more seriously and frequent beat than the usual beat. these are such a nothingburger but i love this song too much i can't stop hearing it in my mind i mean bake no hana became my nickname in many games or just in social media in general i just think this song is a masterpiece and it manages to explain itself very clearly

Do i play pjsk? No
Am I gonna watch this entire video? Hell yea

First of all, thank you for this amazing analysis once again, I love mizuki from the bottom of my heart so i was looking forward to see this video

One of my favorite and more painful facts is that between mizu2 and mizu5 Ena didnt get 4★ cards on mizuki focused events and neither did Mizuki on ena's events, because Mizuki was pushing Ena away to not lose her.

I also love how cherry blossoms relate to Mizuki, cause they are something ephimeral and mizuki used to think happiness was temporary, and watching other people enjoy them seemed meaningless to her until she had n25 with her during secret distance

And omg i'll never shut up about Ena saying she will wait as long as she has to for Mizuki to confess her secret, and Mizuki not believing thats possible and thinking that the day she tells her everything will end but then in Ena5 Ena lets Mizuki know she will be there for her forever, its just so beautiful seeing Mizuki finally have something unconditional and definitive, I love them so much

And the way Mizuki 's fear wasn't even n25 hating her but them treating her differently and having fake empathy is so real, so relatable, (watching mizu5 fragments almost got me crying lmao) to then be reasured, be told that Mizuki is Mizuki is so precious, and this relates to Kazatte's lyrics about Mizuki just wanting a normal happy pretty live 😭😭😭

So in conclusion let's see if mizu5 also happens to be realesed the 12th or it wast just a coincidence (I'll be trying to tier and i alreasy know it's gonna be a hell 😃)

24:22 pov ur mom when chores not done:

Mizuki's lore, personality and situation... everything soooo intense... Myself and many ppl can relate so much with her, don't need to be as identifying yourself as something you aren't born as but just the heavy burden of hiding something big from ppl you enjoy and want to be close with, the fear of getting too close to them, also, the fear of if the secret being revealed culminating into a really awkward traumatic experience followed by a forced unwanted farewell. I'm always listening to bake no hana and Kitten, both fits so well into my everyday life, thank you for the video, was amazing diving so much into something so precious.
