(and please don't buy a wii u)

update: do buy a Wii U windwaker is awesome

“The year is 2010, I was 4 years old-“

This right here is a fucking reality check for some folks

wii u is the last console with personality

A Modded Wii U gives you access to Wii, Gamecube, DS, GBA, GBC, GB, SNES, NES

I feel bad you didnt get to experience miiverse on wii u. It was special.

5:08  INSTANTLY FELL INTO A PORTAL TO 2013!!! Love that

Three days ago, I pulled up YouTube to watch while eating my dinner. This video was recommended so I clicked it. Halfway through, I typed "Wii U" into Facebook marketplace just for fun. First thing to pop up was a Zelda edition Wii U only 10 minutes away from me.Two days later (yesterday) it became mine :D But, just like your college situation, I'm a PhD student and my prelim exam is one week away (biggest exam of my life)- so I have to wait to play it :(  What an exciting journey!

For context, the reason it wants you to be connected to WiFi during a factory reset is because NNIDs are hard-linked to a single Wii U. Once you link the account to a Wii U you can’t link it to another one until you remove the NNID from the first. When you factory reset the Wii U, it removes all the local data including the linked NNIDs. But the servers also need to know about this, so that they can unlink the NNID on their side and let it get linked to a new console in the future. If the console didn’t tell the server that the NNID was getting unlinked during a factory reset, then that NNID would essentially be bricked

If you buy a simple Wii U and do nothing with it it's not worth it. If you mod it you get access to lost content and only exclusives that work on Wii U. I've had a Wii U since 2014 and though I have games that are still exclusive mainly being the Zelda HD remasters there's eShop content that I want to experience so I'll be modding my console soon

the official online servers shut down, but there’s a fanmade service called Pretendo that brings back online functionality to certain games

I own a Wii U too! You mentioning unfixable disc errors was very relatable. It brought me back to when I was younger and had a physical copy of Mario Kart 8 that suddenly stopped working. I'm convinced this problem is exclusive to the Wii U, as I own the Gamecube and Wii with zero issues.

In my opinion, buying a Wii U in 2025 is worth it for the fun times you can have with friends/family and all the personality crammed into it. There were so many things in this era of Nintendo that you could do on the consoles without playing games; messing around in PictoChat, making a Mii, playing Face Raiders, AR games and whatnot, heck, transferring data between consoles would have a fun Pikmin animation moving all your data to the new console. They could’ve easily just made it a progress bar but they bothered to THAT level of fan service.

Ex used game seller here; Wii u games are especially vulnerable to scratches. Especially if someone tried to have them buffed. They don't do well with that.

Also it could be the eye in your wii u

This is the first video I've seen on your channel, but definitely make more things like this!
I love hearing about personal experiences with games and consoles, as opposed to people just stating the technical things or objective history that you can find anywhere.

Next Step: Try out some Homebrew! One of my favoriete things with Wii U/3DS is reviving the Nintendo Network, including things like Miiverse.

this video was randomly on my feed and I'm so glad I clicked! Keep up the great work :3

1:28 it fr really did.. deadass 💀😭

your video style is so unique , new sub!!!!

I bought a Wii U back in Dec 2023 for $66 after tax, as the item was up for bids and it was being sold "as is" on eBay. After purchasing the accessories it was almost $100 and I was happy. Works great.

first time on the channel, and i love the art style! Im currently 8 minutes in and i like the video alot!
