Steam is now fully functional on ARM, which means we get a pretty sweet port for Android handhelds. We're using ArmadaOS. It's insanely easy to install and turns your tiny little Android into a tiny little Steam Deck, and lord knows that could be tinier...

They changed the installation tutorial already with an added screenshot and a note, with "Thanks Bob" in the end!

In case anyone is wondering, you can also install it from a USB C flash drive or from a USB C SSD. Ask me how I know.

Honestly it's pretty crazy how fast things are progressing because literally last year I was wishing for some kind of SteamOS support for my Odin 2 Mini, and how cool it would be to use it on such a small device. Well here we are now lol

Armada OS starting to outperform some games compared to gamenative and gamehub now. Life is GOOD

I'm soo ready for an ARM Steam Deck Mini.

ArmadaOS should have better input latency over Android on emulators so it may be worth doing for that reason

I have a GPD Win Mini 2025, with a 4tb ssd. It fits in my left pocket just fine, and since it's clamshell I have no case. I take it pretty much anywhere. Even if I ride my motorcycle to where I am going. Clamshell means closing the lid can make it sleep on the spot, and open resume. Lately I have been playing Oblivion remastered, and RDR2. Some Wii U games. Anywhere at any time. It really is my dream device. It's also so freakishly powerful for it's size it replaced my laptop. Whenever I work in office, I dock it in, and everything I need is there. Insane times to be living in.

8:12 Micro SD express cards/readers run at UHS1 speeds even with a UHS2 compatible card/reader due to the pins that are used for UHS2 being reused for the express connection, leaving only the UHS1 pins as the compatible connection.

I like how Bob still shows off the Odin mini, it kinda feels like a forgotten machine art this point

Watching MGS4 running on what is essentially a PS Vita just blew my mind, damn

Something about "it's a vibe!" said with increasing aggression made me laugh xD

In 2009 I was going to school with my nokia 5530 xpressmusic and I was mad because I could only install a couple dozen apps/games in symbianOS before memory was full. Even the sd card max was only 16gb, and it was already full with System of a Down and Linkin Park music. Still, I managed to beat Pokemon Leaf Green on a GBA emulator playing for the first time and I was really happy because my parents couldn't afford to buy me the same gameboy that my cousins had.

In 2026 my phone folds in half and opens to a tablet screen, I have 1tb of storage, and possibilities are endless. It's crazy how far this stuff has come.
