I never thought I’d be making this video, but I have officially SOLD my Nissan Y62 Patrol.
After spending a fortune building what I thought was the ultimate touring rig, a single tank of bad fuel completely blew the V8 engine. What followed was months of absolute nightmare drama dealing with Nissan Australia, who completely refused to help.
Because of how I was treated, I will NEVER buy another Nissan again.
To finally put this chapter behind me, I had to drive the broken rig over 3,500km across the country from Victoria all the way to Western Australia just to get rid of it. In this video, I’m breaking down exactly what went wrong, the mechanical failure, the shocking customer service experience, and why I’m walking away from the brand for good.
If you are thinking about buying a Y62 Patrol, or if you tour remote Australia, you need to watch this.

One of the reasons I tell people to be careful with the aftermarket is this exact scenario. You end up being passed from business to business, person to person on a wild goose chase.
As for the bad fuel, I have no doubt that if the unichip hadn't been installed this issue wouldn't of happened.
If you made me kitchen cabinets and then I modified the rails, only to complain the draws weren't closing properly all of a sudden, you wouldn't cover it either.
Let's be real, this isn't a nissan issue, its a problem with the belief that the aftermarket always knows better, they make you believe that, then a situation like this happens and you're the one stressing.
Stress less, modify less!
