14:50 people forget that before he killed Robin, A-train was kind of Hughie’s favorite. Recall back to when we see his bedroom at his dad‘s house in season one. So him believing in A-train’s redemption more than anybody makes sense even though he killed Robin.
Not sure if you knew this, but when Homelander is trapped in the cage with the enriched uranium talking to Butcher and he says something to the effect of "the whole planet is my birthright! My destiny!" That's actually from the comics! Antony Starr nailed the delivery for this adaptation of Homelander as well for sure.
Huh, watching this video made me realise how good the first 4 episodes were. Maybe it was due to the constant negativity I saw online but these episodes definitely "feel" better than they did when I saw them myself, really excited to see how you feel about the Raise him up song scene and the finale as well!!
2:00 im sorry but i think you kind of missed whats going on, MM is purposley selling to get people to put money on the other guy, then once he gets confirmation that frenchie is gonna win the pot then he wins and french splits it with MM
10:29 My take from Hughie pausing after Annie said the math is 8 billion people vs 10 thousand supes makes sense, Hughie wasn't considering if Annie was right, he was considering how Annie changed in the last year. Old Annie would never say that, she would never accept innocent people/supes dying as collateral and would fight for another way. It goes with how in episode 1 Hughie is pissed that Starlight disappeared to evacuate Frenchie before protecting civilians. She's gotten harder, colder and more pragmatic, Hughie is wondering what happened to her and how much she changed.
Can't wait for you to win the rest of the season! I do fear there might be a few win reductions along the way, but i did very much enjoy the finale. BTW, the vought international youtube channel has a 15 minute episode of the deep podcast!
8:20 Fun detail about this scene: back when A-Train ran over Robin, Vought's defense for sweeping it under the rug was that she was on the driveway (while she was barely off the sidewalk). But this woman right here is walking smack dab in the middle of the road, and A-Train still dodges her at the cost of his own life. Just to further highlight the parallels.
god i love this channel so much, I feel like im drowning in a sea of negativity anytime i go online nowadays, It feels like nobody shares when they like something but everyone shares when they hate something, This season was fantastic and i cannot wait for part 2 to this video (and vought rising)
MM didnt gain the upper hand uppon sein’ frenchie; its implied they arranged for MM to pretend to lose so that frenchie could get better bet odds.. once the bet was placed, he gave MM the sign to fight for real.
Speaking of Noir doing Noir things for the first time in a while, gotta shout out Nathan Mitchell for his physical acting ability. He plays Black Noir I and II so differently that I thought until recently that they were two different actors (using a different actor in the flashback sold it too, but he really carries himself and moves like a whole different person)
