You forgot the most important mechanic about the Commisar is he has a nice hat.

Still so confused why there’s no interaction between someone with a commissar origin and someone quite literally named “the commissar” in commoragh

Something to note about Noble's "You. Serve Me." is that it can be transmitted through the new Overseer's Servo-swarm, which can make your ENTIRE team be your servants, massive upgrade overall.

Don't sleep on Castigator. Literally yelling the enemy to death is hysterical.

Owlcat did a real solid job adapting this incredibly old system and adapting it into sonething that allowes you to make so many distinc andninteresting characters, both mechanically ans roleplay-wise.

The info on roleplayability was actually very interesting!

I finished the game 4 times:
1. Noble Officer with Grand Strategist secondary profession.
2. Sanctioned Psyker (Pyrokineticist) Operative (don't remember secondary profession)
3. Crimelord Operative with Grand Strategist secondary profession
4. Ministorum Priest Blade Dancer with Executioner secondary profession

Noble is an insanely strong origin for Officer, both in mechanics and role playing perspective. I had a lot of fun just by the fact that the names of the talents lend themselves to playing like a real noble, who might (but doesn't have to) be a real peace of work. It was an awesome run, although the mechanics of the game at that time were so complicated for me, I played it quite ineffectively.

Sanctioned Psyker (Pyrokineticist) was hard to use because most of its abilities were mutually exclusive when it comes to using them within the same turn. This had me jumping through hoops to use this archetype effectively. As it is a heavily taxed origin (meaning you need a great amount of talents and powers) it is good to pair it with Grand Strategist secondary profession if you don't opt for its talents and abilities. Grand Strategist probably also has a greater amount of common talents to choose (it ends with greater number than other professions), so the Sanctioned Psyker is quite good here.

Crimelord Operative was the moment where I understood mechanics almost completely for the first time. I knew what I wanted and so I went for playing a "one shot, one kill" build. This required building the whole team around the concept so that multiple party members generated exploits and my Crimelord gained half of them as a permanent stacking buff to his perception but it was worth it. I had heaps of fun going with one shot and doing some crazy numbers along with being able to practically omit the deflection. In case of role-playing I had as much fun as in case of Noble. I was immensely satisfied that I could simply have something done based on the origin. I was kind of disappointed about one thing, meaning I didn't have option for going full Crimelord who would be selfish (he doesn't bow to anyone) but also not bound to Chaos so I went for Iconoclast which didn't allow me to realize my concept fully.

Ministorum Priest Blade Dancer? Now we are getting into the "weird" territory. What do I mean by that? I am a long time soulslike games player. This means that when I get to finish games multiple times I will most probably start playing it weird as in experiment with much less common builds. The idea here was to play a scourge on daemons, heretics, mutants and everything that looked at me silly. As such I made the hymn ability the core of the build. What was atypical about this? Well I didn't care about increasing agility and for most of the time I mostly increased willpower, toughness and weapon skill, in that order. I based the build around the concept of being center of attention by getting between enemies, using the hymn, provoking the attacks with it and riposting every attack made this way. It allowed me to generate a huge amount of momentum and also made the character quite impervious to death in a way. You could say that the character was too stubborn to die. From the role-playing perspective this run was also a lot of fun just based on the decisions a player has to make and how fanatical it can get.

How in the world are you NOT a famous voice-over artist?? You have a great voice!!

For Crime Lord, you shouldn't sleep on Killing Plan.  It adds additional damage percentage based on Weapon Skill, and if the attack kills at least 1 opponent, it refunds the point of Surefire Plan.  The Crime Lord is no longer based around Perception and Intelligence,  but based around WS instead.  This makes the Crime Lord very strong with Warriors, Blade Dancers, and especially Arch-Militants.  The scaling WS bonus on the AM makes Killing Plan absolutely incredible.

My biggest issue with psykers is lack of reactivity regarding your specific typo of psyker. Say, Idira can in some cases warn you about ambushes, but you as diviner can't foresee them. You can't help yourself in Commoragh as biomancer, etc.

Thanks for the  review Slandered, the part about roleplaying interactivity is especially helpful to consider what origin to take for my next playthrough.

Just realized with the latest DLC you can totally RP an American in 40k. Dual wield shotguns while commanding a cybernetic eagle...

A deathworld priest who goes in as a Bladedancer and later executioner is awesome. You become stronger the more injuries and traumas you have with Agility, Weapon Skill and Willpower being heightened by injuries. At the end you have more wounds than a tank, more dodge than an assassin and more damage than a dps. And you can fill your momentum with one skill. That and your damage takes an extreme spike for the round you use your skill.
For roleplay you can choose as you wish as either a priest loyal to the emperor, a priest embodying kindness and mercy or as a corrupt priest falling for the ruinous powers.

A favourite of mine for high difficulty runs.

Fleet combat training makes a Navy Officer Bladedancer OP.  also works well with dw pistol gunslinger builds and pistol/melee builds fun too... Not as good as a Sanctioned Psyker, but IMO its top 3
