"In your world I go by another name-"
"BUDDHA?!"
"What? No! I.... "

Also important to remember that Lewis is a pretty well respected theologian. His non-fiction books are theological essays and explanations about topics like why god allows suffering. It's not just a story about Jesus but one written by a guy who was very knowledgeable and is respected for his theology. I understand why Christians are very hesitant to see someone with a more atheist (anti-theist) approach adapt such a religious story. As someone who is no longer Christian, I am cautiously excited haha

His Dark Materials is a great work in conversation with Narnia.

It’s not that Pullman wrote the “atheist/agnostic Narnia” so much as he was critical of the institutions of the church that had historically done tremendous harm and questioned whether a benevolent god would truly be the head of such systems.

I love this! I haven't been following the new movie very closely but I loved the books as a kid, and it's been interesting hearing all the discourse

I remember hearing about the Christian allegory thing and feeling so stupid for not seeing it earlier.

I noticed in The Magician’s Nephew Aslan takes on the role of God the Father and Jesus in the Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe. I predict he’ll represent the Holy Spirit if he shows up later in the series.

Having this new Aslan be full of different types of animals makes me get “Aslan is the creator” so much more visually than “lion”

It really angers me so many online Christian’s have immediately binning Gretas version
