If all this did happened, BTS still put on the best show of the night.  This is why they are the best at what they do.  It says so much about their character.

I’ve read and seen various opinions. And since I’m not an expert on sound or how festivals are organized, I asked AI .And here it is, explained quite realistically.  The arena was packed with ARMYs, and the noise levels during BTS's set were incomparably higher than for any other artist. To prevent the deafening cheers from completely overpowering the music, the sound engineers on the streaming mixing board began aggressively dampening and filtering the ambient microphones on the fly. However, due to this heavy-handed adjustment, they accidentally crushed the dynamics of the backing track and vocals as well, which is why the audio occasionally sounded flat or "underwater." Unlike concerts organized by HYBE, where sound engineers intimately know the vocal texture of each member and mix the audio accordingly, the Western production crew at iHeartRadio applied a universal template setting to the microphones. As a result, Jungkook's microphone was initially mixed very hot (loud), while Jin and V had theirs set too low, making them almost entirely inaudible during the shared choruses.BTS performed 100% live to showcase their vocal power. However, the festival's broadcast feed sent a mostly dry vocal line directly from the microphones into the stream, with minimal reverb and a heavily muted backing track. This caused the raw live vocals to sound unnaturally isolated on TV—as if the guys were singing into a void—even though the audience inside the arena experienced a perfect, full-bodied acoustic blend with the live band. At festivals of this type, a massive digital countdown clock is placed right in front of the stage. It literally counts down the seconds left in the artist's slot for them to see. The moment it hits zero, the production team immediately cuts the microphones and switches the live broadcast feed. Because iHeartRadio is broadcast live across the entire US, any delay costs millions of dollars. Due to their complex technical stage setup (lifts, pyrotechnics), BTS had an incredibly tight schedule. They knew they had to vacate the stage the exact second the final notes of FYA faded out.  Jungkook, being the seasoned professional he is, knew exactly how strict the television broadcast timing was. Since the song FYA ended with massive fire blasts and smoke, the entire group had clear instructions to exit immediately to clear the way for the stage crew. The fact that they didn't linger for long waves or speeches was actually a demonstration of their professionalism toward the festival format—even though on screen, it felt abrupt and cut short.    Like I said, I’m no expert. But I don’t panic or hate on anything until I find out what’s really going on.

This video you watched is already altered in post-production, or whatever you call it. The live stream was even worse. I couldn't believe it. Mics were all over the place, RM was extremely loud, and Jin was almost off, etc. So I think this video was "corrected" and is not the same as what was live. Bantantv channel did even more engineering, and you can find an even better version on their channel.  Also, it looked like they had more songs to sing just by the place they were standing. The end of Runaway wasn't a place where they finished their performance like ever. I think they had 1 or 2 more songs, but the decision was made to finish this disaster. But the real shitstorm happened the day after, when iHeartRadio aired on the radio the host who mocked JK, BTS, and ARMY, like in the good old days when we had to deal with this kind of attitude frequently. So, kinda nostalgic lol and super stupid - he already tried to apologize.

What was streamed on Hulu was FAR WORSE than this. Also, HYBE posted remastered videos which are the best. When I watched it live there were moments I couldn’t hear several of the members, the music was super low, no crowd noise, and several parts were missed. It was so bad AND only four songs with an abrupt (clearly unplanned) ending. You can see when they let them know in their ears they were out of airtime. People say others went over but if BTS is your headline, what you’ve hyped up, cut the other people off. It wasn’t just BTS, the entire broadcast was unprofessional riddled with mistakes.

I was watching the live on Disney+ and when BTS came out, they basically muted the audience. You could barely hear army. But I've seen fancams from people inside the arena and army was wild as always. The guys couldn't hear. Yoongi, Jin and Tae's mics were super low and you can see Tae screaming his parts. I watched the whole thing and I didn't notice any of those issues wih the other artists

Watch the fancams!!!! You can hear and see what it was really like. Night and day.
This version has already been altered for sound. I don't think the guy doing the live feed was prepared for how loud the audience was. They kept muting them. It was horrble. But funny side note when I watched the fancams the guys seemed to be having way more fun. So I dont know if we project our feelings onto it.

If you watch the fan cams and the YouTubers who were there, there were no technical issues in-house and they sounded great. Apparently the sound issue was only for the live stream. If you watch the fan cams you'll definitely hear the difference. As well, you barely hear the audience on the livestream. I heard that there are 2 sound engineers, one the in-house performance and one for the live stream. If that's the case, it might explain the differences. You should know better than me. As always, thank you for your reaction.

The guys were great and professional as always. This was better audio than what we got while streaming(which is still not great). The main issues I had was it was hard to hear the guys and the audience was muted pretty much all the way so it sounded like no body was there.

I think the sound engineers tried to remove the audience noise for the live stream. That's why you can't hear them, but all the fan cams I saw the sound was smazing.

So different from that high quality sound we get from concerts. The sound was definitely off.

It wasn't just the sound. At the end the lighting was bad as well.

At least the crowd knows dead air. But they probably thought BTS were having an off night. Pitiful. They need a new lighting director too.

I love listening to the two of you as the hosts of this show.  You remind me of my husband and my self.

They muddy the waters of the issue and mock the questions or criticisms raised, acting as if the fans look stupid—like a crazed fandom—for bringing them up. While it was a shame they only performed four songs, the countless ARMYs watching the broadcast were pointing out major flaws in the broadcast's sound quality, lighting, and camera work. After all, fan-recorded videos showed the sound was actually fine, confirming the problem lay with the broadcast's audio. It’s infuriating to be mocked and dismissed as a fandom that falls for conspiracy theories when, in reality, we weren't peddling conspiracy theories at all.

No but it was unproffessional and ARMY are not used to that. Because in the past there have been occasions of deliberate sabotage ARMY are also very oversensitive. What was totally unacceptable was the aptly named dense W** making fun of Jungkooks name and calling ARMY LOSERS.  He also made out ARMYs only complaint was the length.of the segment totally missing the valid points and misrepresenting that to a  large audience. He deserved everything he got. Just for that. It amazes me that because BTS do not behave like entitled American stars they out perform and out sell. American hosts who, on one level, know BTS are big do not realise they are probably dealing with some of the most powerful people they will ever meet. BTS will never play entitled celebrity and that is why so many hosts mistep. BTS does not need to demand basic respect. ARMY do it for them.

JK took his earpiece out directly after the performance and walked straight of the stage. Knowing JK and his love for Army it's not like him. You see Taehyung looking left and right to the side of the stage during the performance, he seemed annoyed. In my (unprofessional) opinion the mics of Namjoon and Suga also seem to be a bit too loud...

You should watch a fancam. It was fine live apparently.  I'd  love and explanation if how and why the stream version was butchered:(

Despite all the sound and lighting problems BTS faced at iHeart Radio there,  BTS still gave it there all with no complaining or walking off which others probably would have done.
BTS should get an award for even showing up there, even though all 7 BTS members were on a well deserved break  from their world tour just to go to iHeart Radio just to sing a few songs.

The main controversy blew up after an iheart radio ( this was their show) and one of their  hosts with a  large audience called ARMY LOSERS ....REPEATEDLY AND MADE FUN OF JUNGKOOKS NAME AND HIS FELLOW PRESENTERS JOINED IN. HE MISREPRESENTED ARMY AS ONLY COMPLAINING ABOUT THE LENGTH NOT ABOUT THE UNPROFFESSIONAL QUALITY OF THE SOUND. THE TOTALLY MISSING BACKING TRACK FOR MOST OF IT. ALSO MUTING ARMY WHICH WAS MOST OF THE AUDIENCE SO ARMY CHEERS WERE NOT GREATER THAN THE OTHER ARTISTS. THE CUMALITIVE EFFECT OF TRYING TO MUTE OUT ARMY CHEERS DID SOMETHING TO THE MIXING THAT TRASHED THE AUDIO. BUT ACCORDING TO WOODY WE WERE STUPID LOSERS COMPLAINING BECAUSE BTS ONLY HAD 15 MINS WHICH WAS ALL THEY WERE PAID FOR. Sorry about the capitals dont know where my glasses are and so I dont have to keep spell checking.  There were 6 mistakes in just thisnlittle bit😊

The production value coming from fan cams via TikTok was  200% better than what was coming out of my bose speakers attached to my TV.
