EPISODE 94
In this episode we hang the last of the regular planks and start making “shutter planks” - the planks that fill a gap between already fastened areas of planking above and below. These require more careful patterning, but are extremely satisfying to hammer into place if they fit properly - but will they ?!
Before we hang the very final plank (the Whisky Plank!) I trim the plank ends flush with the transom, which really visually transforms the boat. Finally the Whisky plank is hammered into place, and the crew celebrates with a well earned wee dram.

I'm quite a few years behind, but I can't overstate how amazing this video series is. Leo is a champion for so many people around the world, even those outside of wooden boatbuilding. I had the biggest smile plastered on my face for the rest of the video after Pete finished the plank, the camera went inside the meticulously crafted hull, the celebration, the gorgeous footage, and the old video of Leo quietly talking inside of the boat for the first time. I've been binge watching this series since discovering it last week. 94 episodes and counting in eight days. I poured myself a large Glenlivet tonight to celebrate that last plank. What an achievement, with more to come.

I've been binge watching the videos of this historic project, today , 3 years after this milestone event I watched the "Whiskey plank" being put in place. It was a testament to the determination and perseverance of everyone involved. We'll done!

"Leaders eat last." Leaders let others do the "satisfying and fun" stuff. Like hanging the Whisky Plank. Leo is a true leader.

Its weird. I find myself sitting here at the end with a silly grin on my face both in awe of the beauty and in awe of all the work done by all involved, just feeling pure happiness in these strange times.

Just over halfway through this build of the Tally Ho . I have seen such great work from so many great people, and before not knowing what a Whiskey plank is, to see it installed on the New Tally Ho brings me great pleasure. From my novice spectatorship I would call this ship a New Tally Ho with a old soul. Just my opinion. Thank you so much for all that you bring to boat building. Tally Ho
