My goodness friends, this has been a tough old week here battling the endless renovation of our derelict 300-year-old abandoned English country cottage. It has tested us in more ways than one, but what it has served up in challenges it has more than made up for in wondrous and humbling delights!
Expect savage attacks (both physical and emotional) on our final foray into the loft, the soul-crushing installation of our lastāand in my opinion by far the coolestāof our antique fireplaces, prepare yourselves to help us choose a design direction for the room of ever-diminishing doom, and find out how much money we have made!

If you're interested in keeping the room of doom feeling warm:
Go for the neutral white with an orange tone (on camera, that's sandbank). But I agree that on camera this is still a bit too yellow. I'd suggest tinting it with a dot or two of cadmium pigment for extra warmth for the uppers.
Colour theory 101:
Since orange is opposite blue on the colour wheel, they contrast, giving the blue more vibrancy without clashing with the neutralised orange. It's the hidden why to 'how come that blue is so pretty.'
When you want to work with warm whites when painting, try using more of a zinc pigment white instead of a titanium pigment white base; zinc pigment is less opaque and naturally reads more warm orange yellow. Titanium pigment often reads as cold, especially in a blue room, ranging more from a blue tint to light purple grey.
