I own the Revo 3.3 for over 3 years now still stock except upgraded vented brake disc and I Love this Truck it thrashes and bashes just fine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Revo has a 4.6 beastly engine and the center diff. It’s a basher for sure. Ya those long travel rocker pieces. Have them on the front or rear I forget.
It could also be the looseness of the exhaust spring. When you hit a jump, flip or a simple drop from the hand can cause it to lean enough to stall. I use two springs and a manifold plate. My springs hook in the plate and the plate pulls the manifold tight agains the engine. Ive see landings/tumbles that cause the exhauat to come completely off the engine with the spring still attached.
Pull start is the way to go. Ive seen several broken crank pins and a couple broken cranks over the years. Plus, the pull start loses the least amount of power.
You have the HSN a bit too lean. Back it out an 8th of a turn at a time when it starves after a WOT run like that. You should be seeing thicker exhaust smoke all through WOT. That was why your idle got weird. The engine was overheating. Fatten up the high.
