At this point, if a game has endings and even subpar looking animations I already immediately know it won't dethrone Pit Fighter.

In response to 9:29:
Bart: "I unlocked a secret character and it was just normal-ass Reptile!"
Homer: "Hey, when I was a kid, unlocking Reptile was a pretty big deal."
Bart: "Really?"
Homer: "Nah."

So there's a retro convention here in Austin called Classic Game Fest. One of the recurring guests is one of the original mortal kombat artists. Turns out he's responsible for drawing the original Logo. He says the original he drew faced the dragon to the left and they mirrored it before first release.

So when you ask "who faces the dragon to the left?" The answer is the person who drew it

I still feel like this series is destined to end with Shrek: Fairytale Freakdown vs. SHADOW: War for Succession.

Here is an extra funny thing about the fatalities: if you squint hard enough, you will realize that the fatalities in this game (most easily seen with Reptile's) is performed on Johnny Cage.... who isn't even playable in this port.

The fatalities look like surveillance footage lol

I just met Richard Divisio, who played Kano, Baraka, Quan Chi, and Kabal, and he's such an awesome guy. He loved getting into character for Quan Chi from Mythologies.

Mk has such the oddest luck whenever it comes to handheld entries

@LinkyYoshi 10 months ago

And the funniest thing: the "Fatalities" were censored in the German version of this game. XD
They just are completely gone.

Wait, this is a real game?? I always saw this in GBC ROM lists back in the day and thought it was a ROM hack some MK fan made

@NintendoUltraWeb-Head 10 months ago

Wow...had no idea MK4 even HAD a Game Boy version.

@gregt9919 10 months ago

14:48 or Shinnok of luck? 😅 No? Ok, then.

Ohhh, Matt's starting to scrape the bottom of the 'easy material' barrel

Won't be long now before we're getting Commodore/Amiga fighters and DOS beat em ups 😂

Which, for the record, I am into

You know it's bad when Digital Eclipse decided that MK advance would be in the collection over GBC MK4..Not even for the lawls did they include it

Battle of the Eras on DOS and Shadow: War of Succession are my top 2 requests for this show. I'll kept requesting until further notice.

@mellyvids9182 10 months ago

Shadow: War of Succession awaits. Every time I hope it will get its episode. Truly a garbage fighting game

7:35 MK4 was made to be backwards compatible with the regular GB because that thing had a giant install base after being available for like 8 years. Many GBC games were sacrificed on that altar. As a kid I learned to avoid games that didn't have the "Only For GBC" thingy down in the corner.
