I tried everything to stop my deadbeat roommate from draining my laundry card. So I emptied the balance down to zero. I thought that would finally send her the message. I was dead wrong. The very next day, she stormed into our shared dorm room and slammed a crumpled receipt hard onto my desk, oozing pure, unfiltered entitlement.“Lydia, what is your problem? Why didn’t you refill your laundry card? I had to pause my wash cycle halfway through all because of you.” Naen huffed, tilting her chin up like she was the wronged party here. “I dropped ten bucks onto your card for you since we’re supposed to be roommates. I didn’t even charge you extra for the trip down to the payment kiosk. So how are you gonna pay me back? Venmo or Cash App?”
