2:37 Speaking as someone with a Masters degree in Japanese Studies: GOGOON etc. are just onomatopoeia for "dramatic" or "explosive" sounds in Japanese which look weird to us due to Japanese phonetics and spelling. Equivalents would be BLAM, KABOOM, DUNDUN (you know, the dramatic "hit the piano" sound) and so on. Most Japanese sounds look weird to us and therefore should usually be translated. In Japan, cats go NYAN, frogs go GERO and violence fighters just go GOGOON I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (and yes, this is the most useful my degree has been in quite a while, thank you very much)

Painting the Mirror Match as the younger brother is the most videogame thing i ever saw in years.

Remember, the first rule of Violence Fight is you talk about Violence Fight

I'll just mentally add this to the Def jam fighting game lore as a prequel.

One possible origin for the sound effects might be from Masami Kurumada comics like "Put it all in the Ring" and "Saint Seiya", where he'd have sound effects like "BACOOON" and "DOGOOON" used here and there. With how popular those comics were, that might be one thing it's referencing.

I love how the plot of Violence Fight is basically the plot of Kengan Asura lmao

Lick Joe radiates powerful Rowsdower energy.

an AI created game

imagine this game ported to a nintendo console, it'd be called "brutishness donnybrook"

I absolutely love it when you play old, more obscure games like this.  GOGOON!

Pretty sure "GOGOON" is a movie about aliens in an old folks home

The first screen of the ending is pretty much the video game equal of the card at the end of Miami Connection.

As opposed to Non Violent Fight, the alltime champion of which was Ghandi

The only thing I'm rooting for in a violence fight is violence 🤷‍♂

If you grew up any time during the era of arcades, there was always at least one game you saw once and you spent the next 20, 30 years trying to remember what it was. Hell, sometimes you even wondered if it actually existed and you didn't just hallucinate the whole thing.

lichard joe my beloved

They used to call this game "Dogon" where i lived instead of the actual crappy name.
Hey at least it's still better than Pit Fighter.

Wow, Violence Fight.  I played this in the arcade.  I think about it sometimes because it was such a weird name for a video game.

Broken English is definetely the best kind of English
