my own personal idea is that Azrael should have been the Arkham knight. doing a version of Arkham Knight which is an adaptation of the Nightfall story but Azrael as a twist villain. you could use the arkham city story to set that up. also Azrael being the knight makes sense with his origins

Azrael probably didn't know Batman was Bruce Wayne, but studying him so often and for so long, he knew Batman would sneak their way into the facility in their "civilian identity" and as soon as he saw Bruce's fighting style in the opening he probably knew then and there.

Love the idea around peripheral horror, seeing Azrael in the corner of your eye or him watching from afar. Feels like something more games should do to build tension.

They think it's Jason Todd, and it gives Batman some kind of hope that maybe his robin really is alive but at the end it's not Jason. That hope getting ripped away reopens the fresh wound and triggers his regret for Arkham knight.

I think in Arkham Knight if Azrael decides not to fight you, he should’ve helped you fight Deacon, that would’ve an awesome boss fight

Cardyman cooked again. Keep going or I'll have your search history leaked.

Ngl my idea in knight would’ve been a crazy one but make the maps from arkham origins and arkham city  drivable and u can have way way more side missions in those other areas too  would’ve been peak

I genuinely love Azrael so much and this idea is actually insane, I love it, so much, I want an Azrael spin off so much

thumbnail really is peak

A comment left by one of you guys reminded me to tell you all something:

So, I think in retrospect, having the final mission locked off until after the main story is a bit “anti player” so instead I’d probably just place it after the 3rd crime scene and then have it play out the same.

Instead of the guards escaping from the City, they’d be guarding an exit- then be taken out. 🙏🙌

Either way, it works 😅

I feel like I’m waiting for the next installment while also looking at setups for the future installments and makes me even more excited for it.

Been loving this series.

While this was a great video I'm disappointed to learn no Arkham Origins rewrite I was honestly looking forward to see what you could have done with the 8 assassins especially people like Shiva, Electrocutioner and Croc

Can I ask why you won't touch Origins? Personally, I'd love to see a rewrite where Black Mask is actually the villain.

Good rewrite on the missision, I like it honestly. Only thing I change is that were you find Penguin remaning forces, you use all these drawing that Azreal left behind and piece the map, discovering you TYGER forces locations.

I like that you tried to have some connection with the Arkham Shadow runes 😊

I never had any issues with the Arkham stories and side missions, but these rewrites are SO DAMN COOL!!! 😎👍

This was great man, azrael fascinated me as a kid playing city for the first time

We could’ve had a Nightwing & Black Mask side mission, instead of a challenge map.

Let's go another upload!

I just wanted to say, I had binged your rewrite videos and a lot of your retrospective stuff on Arkham. I have been getting back into Batman deeply after seeing your videos, and I started writing a novel for Batman's mythos. Something that just shows off what Gotham and Batman emotionally mean to me, what I see in my mind's eye, how I view Batman as a myth in the city and how criminals could see him as something to fear when they hear something go bump in the night. Currently 4 chapters in and my sister is working on artwork for it. My idea is the artwork working as an emotional lens while the prose builds the physical scene.

I'm getting long in the tooth, but just know you brought something to the surface in me I haven't done in a long time. Writing has been fun because I'm committing to sharing what Batman means to me and why it is special. Not to give "my ideal Batman," just what I see in the characters when I think about the dark, damp streets of Gotham.

Why would I comment without finishing the video? (and yeah, I know some people do)
Very nice once again.  I always look forward to these rewrites, especially to expand on characters that didn't get enough time in the games.
Azrael is admittedly one I don't know a lot about.  I've definitely heard other youtubers talk about his comic story and how much more there is to him there, but my only direct experience with him is the Arkham games, where I'm sure I don't need to tell you he doesn't get to do much.
I'm very curious what you will do with him later, as right now he's giving an all too often repeated sentiment, and I'm sure you'll do more than that.
