Despite being a nation steeped in folklore and legend, Finland possesses surprisingly few modern accounts of the mysterious or paranormal. Yet during the early 1970s, the Nordic country became the setting for a series of bizarre UFO encounters that would leave a lasting impression upon those involved. The most disturbing of these incidents centred upon a strange humanoid figure reportedly seen in the forests of central Finland; a being that would later become known as the Kinnula Entity.

I love the fact that a running chainsaw coming at you unsuprisingly is a interstellar sign of 'get the f*** out of my forest'😅

The wind sound in Bedtime Stories is both the ultimate sound design and the perfect background music. 💀

Tapio Kuningas was one of the lead UFO researchers in Finland, he was especially active during the 1970's and published 2 books of alien and UFO sighting stories specifically from Finland and later in the 90's co-authored a book about 100 best known Finnish UFO sightings. So there are plenty of stories here but you have to know Finnish to read them.

2:25 Incorrect. The Finns just don't go around telling everyone about their cryptid sightings.

Unfortunately, the case with lumberjacks in Kinnula is fake, the local newspaper reporter Mauno Ihanti later confessed in 1990 that he and the lumberjacks invented the story to the April fool's day issue of local newspaper. The burnmarks came from hot fire iron that the lumberjack had grabbed under the influence. FUFORA - the Finnish UFO Research association lists the case as the first of two most famous Finnish UFO hoaxes, the second being 1994 "encounter" with conscrips from Kainuu garrison. Altough the Kinnula case was proven fake, there are other real cases from the 1970's, which rarely appear outside finnish language literature.
