2. Cry for me
3. death and romance/ watching tv or true blue
all are so gooooooood i can't pick just one
2. Image
3. The Ballad of Matt and Mica
1. Watching TV - the ending of this track in particular is the standout moment of the whole album for me.
2. Death & Romance. Love the momentum of this track and the drums are fantastic.
3. Cry For Me. A modern classic for me. Not easy to pull off a 70s disco pop tune and sound authentic and new at the same time.
You should definitely check out their other full length album, Mercurial World. It's a bit more straight forward and poppy than Imaginal Disk but still a great record.
1. The Ballad of Matt & Mica
2. Death & Romance
3. Image or Killing Time (both are so groovy)
i discovered them right as the first few singles for this album came out, and my favorites have to be That's My Floor, Cry for Me, and Vampire in the Corner
also, if you liked this, i recommend listening to their mini mix vol. 3!! it's not very long but i personally LOVED it
That song and Angel on a Satellite are my current favourites. Honorable mention to Watching TV, since it was my favourite when I first listened to it
Their previous album Mercurial World is really nice as well.
I discovered the duo back in the lead up to Mercurial World being released. They have some really good pre-MW stuff as well.
Also saw them in concert during their Mercurial World tour. Fantastic experience. Met Matt and Mica after the show and they signed my vinyl album cover.
1- Cry For Me, absolute banger
2- Death & Romance, I genuinely get emotional every time i hear the piano at the start
3- Watching T.V., craziest build-up i've ever heard in a song
