I think one of the darkest moments in the series is Molly Weasley's last interaction with Fred: "Mrs. Weasley burst into tears. She ran forward, pushed Fred aside, and pulled Percy into a strangling hug, while he patted her on the back..."
Especially with the foreshadowing from Goblet of Fire when they get back from the Quidditch finals:
“I’ve been terrified! What if you’d been killed? What if the last thing I ever said to you was that you didn’t get enough O.W.L.s?” Molly Weasley
She doesn't even chastise Fred, she just casts him aside. At least Percy acknowledged Fred and Fred basically died in Percy's arms.

Great video! The saddest part is the first years of 1997: their very first memory of Hogwarts is Snape at the head table and the Carrows teaching 😔 At least they had Neville and the Room of Requirement turned into a hideout with hammocks and the house banners, such a great detail of the book 🦁👏

The book covers this and clearly so. It was compulsory. As for wands, they used “other wand makers”, but…Olivander was the best.

You know first years of 97 likely didn't want to go back after. Wonder how they handled that. As for Muggle borns that year couldn't they just ignore sending them letters?

I assume Ginny convinced her parents she could still fight the Dark Lord’s forces from the inside. In the case of other non Slytherins the parents probably thought cooperative behavior would keep them alive longer.
