Pro Out here teaching more than school

Can't argue with you here whenever i'm in annesburg i feel uneasy

Really interesting when you start thinking about the issues surrounding a town and how there’s deep history, amazing details and untold misteries around this game

He's so professional he can teach history on top of economics!

Yeah, those mines in Annesburg don’t actually look too bad. In reality you wouldn’t be able to stand upright and would mostly be crawling through tight tunnels.

I would love if you made more videos about the different towns in Red Dead. There are so many interesting ones to talk about, and I love the way you constructed this video. Good job man, this is one of your best videos yet.

This guy teaches more obout history than my teacher 😂

Fun fact: A country/town in Pennsylvania is called Carnegie, and Andrew Carnegie was the mayor and ran the town off oil and coal mining, it eventually was no longer a company town and became,”normal” in the 1930’s, my father moved out from there in the 1970’s when he was about 12, a lot of my ancestors probably worked for Andrew Carnegie, or under his business, and one of the provinces in red dead redemption 2 is based off the south west parts of PA, and for those who did not catch on, Andrew Carnegie is Levitcus Cornwall.

EDIT: it is located in the Allegheny county of Pennsylvania, so annesburg could be a recreation off the real life town in the 1870’s called Carnegie or the city of Pittsburgh, my father was probably born there because he probably had ancestors who were tricked into the coal mining scheme, i actually saw the house and i was told it was built in the 1910’s, so the house could have even been built off the scheme, it still stands to this day

Whenever I’m in Roanoke ridge I feel uncomfortable

The professional: It gets even worse

For some very weird reasons this is one of the most interesting video I have watched on youtube ever, maybe its due to my passion for video games and historical anecdotes and how you ve blended them together and also so many little details that I unconsciously picked up on while playing Red dead redemption 2 start to suddendly make tons of sense.

It’s insane how the only things stopping corporations from making a town like Annesburg today are rules and regulations in place. And most of those regulations are only around because of unions.

you should do more of these history videos pro, you're really good at talking about these things

The song 16 Tons is about this exact subject. Originally by Tennessee Ernie Brown and covered by Johnny Cash. That's exactly what he means with lines like "sold my soul to the company store" They literally worked them to death and paid them with company credit only good at the company store. Everything was sold there. Food, shoes, furniture, school books and supplies and clothing for the entire family. You could never save or get ahead. It was designed to never let you and your family go under any circumstances short of death. The vast majority of people actually ended up so much in debt to the company they had to find other ways to make extra income to pay the company outside of working for the company. Like wives would make soap, pies or prostitute on the side. Kids as well. It was horrific

John marston can consider himself lucky, he worked at a ranch and not in a coal.
