Nice setup. I am extra frugal. I use a standard copy paper cardboard box/case. It is lined with aluminum foil, and I have an old glass door from an entertainment center across the top to hold the lights. The blue lights shown generate very little heat on the glass or in the box. I raise the comic up off the bottom of the box about two inches with another cardboard box a little smaller than the size of an open comic book. That inside box has a piece of white poster board on top. The poster board is just a bit bigger than an open golden age comic book. That puts the two lights about seven inches from the book. A little closer than Captn Mike recommends but so far so good for me. I also have not experienced the same heat issues from the lights that others have reported.

Nice setup. I've built a few light boxes and I just use the aluminum tape to line the entire box. I also ditched the lid completely and grabbed a thin wire shoe rack that will span the entire opening of the box off Amazon( SimpleHouseware 3-Tier Stackable Shoe Rack). That way I have more flexability in moving the lights for specific locations. I use just one level not the entire shoe rack just to be clear😂. I've cracked out lots of books and I take half the empty slab and use as a tray for the light box. When I have the book in the box I will cover the lights with aluminum foil to get complete light coverage. I enjoy your videos and subscribed. Cheers.

there is some research that suggests our eyes are most sensitive to blue light in the 460nm range for circadian regulation, I wonder if these blue bulbs would be good as SAD light therapy lights.... kinda mimics a blue sky..
