another informative video. That foil tape looks way way better then the crappy job I did. Trip to hardware store tomorrow.

Fun stuff.  Something for the toolbox.

sweet knowledge share my dude!

I also agree that the peroxide misting / light treatment drying effects stresses the paper, especially around spine splits, staples and tears.  I put a small damp rag in the box to even out the humidity a little, without making the environment damp.

ThNks for the new look.  Always looking to improve.

Nice job brother

I use tempered glass shelves/plates salvaged from paneled coffee tables, shelving units, and the glass doors from trashed entertainment centers.  They let me dance the lights around the box, and the gaps are big enough to let the heat out.  I use a cheap reflective emergency blanket to cover the setup.  The glass panels also make great cold press plates.

If you wanna reflect the blue light spectrum, the best thing to do would be to take some coarse grit sandpaper to the inside of the tub, then put a couple of coats of matte white paint on there...

Hey, thanks for posting this video! Very informative! I want to ask a few things as I have a few books which actually show signs of foxing (mold related as I've seen some of it nearby) and I want to use your method to clean them. So my questions are:
- What wave length is applicable for the use for books and will not harm ink or paper?
- How long it is safe to expose books to UV?
- have you thought about adding a cooler to that box at the top?
I'm planing on building such thing in order to prevent other books from being infected by the used books with mold that I have.

Do you do any type of a wet cleaning/submerging? Any peroxide, water ratio before this ?

Great video! Is there a reason not to just use silver spray paint to coat the tubs?

Hey Joe, just set up BLED and tried using the timer you recommended. However, it’s turned itself back on twice after two separate 2-hour treatments. Seems to be stuck in sensor mode and instructions don’t indicate how to disable it. Only states that battery replacement in remote can solve “abnormal behavior” in the timer. Thinking I’ll replace it but curious if you’ve run into this problem.

Hi, how many inches apart is your rail? Thank you

none of the links work does anyone have a link to amazon for the bulbs, the socket attachment with on off switch? Thanks a bunch

What kind of stains does it  remove.

Hello and thanks for this helpful video.  1 question though.. Do you mist spray the comic with peroxide?

Can i do this with just the BLED and no % of chemicals and solutions? Would instill get good results?

Hi Joe, I am wondering if it was ME, Murray Clack, who may have suggested using the aluminum duct tape to line the light box?

When I first got Kaptain Myke's book and saw he used aluminum foil to line the box, I knew that using the tape would be a better option.

If it wasn't me who mentioned, then maybe it may have been Chris Bousquet who is also on Kaptain Myke's page, and he got the idea from me

(Small world because it turns out that Chris and I just live a five minute drive from each other)

Thanks, Joe.
I checked Amazon, and the automatic/programmable light switches there didn’t look like what you showed. Would you possibly provide a link or at least the manufacturer of yours?

Hello, not sure if you read your comments on older videos but I will ask anyways. I saw in the comments some other guy asked about cards, so I figured maybe you would know. On manga, the top, side, and bottom of the book pages will be yellowed sometimes, especially on older volumes. Could this method work for manga?
