The floating plant stuff is from the Cottonwood Trees. They put off cotton that has seeds in it, and it floats around like snow.

Y'all should come back sometime to do a trip focused on the Minnesota State Fair (aka The Great Minnesota Get-Together aka the largest state fair aka the home of Sweet Martha's Cookie Jar). And do another trip focused around a week up in Duluth exploring Gooseberry State Park (the best in the nation) & Voyageurs National Park.

10:30 Some fun facts about Minneapolis' park system: Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB) was established in 1883, and has grown into over 7,000 acres of parkland and water. Featuring 55mi of parkways, over 100mi of biking and walking paths, 22 lakes, 12 formal gardens, several golfcourses, and 49 recreation centers. It is consistently recognized as one of the top park systems in the country. Just about everyone lives within a 10min walk of a park here. Regularly I see tons of people using various aspects of each park, often times kids around the age of 10-15 using a park without any adult supervision all of whom probably rode their bikes over.

It makes me happy to see the city buck the trend of the majority of American cities, where kids rarely play outside and rarely spend time at parks by themselves. Instead getting around by bikes (becoming more aware as they eventually learn to drive) or other wheeled transportation.

23:00 The MOA has a podcast called "So Much More" and they did an episode with the owners of the squirrel and their other water skiing animals.

Thanks for visiting my home! Love to see people experiencing the city for the first time! I LOVE that your first meal here was at Little T's. It closed during the pandemic but was reopened under new ownership (Petite Leon owners now own Little T's). Such a classic late night MPLS spot for food. Very cool that you went to Isles Bun & Coffee. It was voted best cinnamon bun in the world in 2024 (rightfully so) and it has been busy ever since the crowning. Minneapolis is also ranked 3rd in the nation for our parks and trails. The city thrives on its access to parks, lakes, bike, and walking paths. Also 99% of MPLS residents live within a 10 minute walk from a park. It's great that you went over to Como Park. It's an amazing, free, publicly funded (along with private donations) park that is a genuine standout of St.Paul. I could say so much more about your trip but the classic ending to Minneapolis is MOA. Fun fact, I went to high school in the mall, true story. So glad you enjoyed your trip! Come back again. Try different spots and have a brand new experience the next time you come!

Awww, you guys should walk around lake Como next time, just a 10-15 minute walk from Como zoo. They play music at the pavilion on some days, and you can rent swan paddle boat as well.

Seeing that long line at Isles is shocking. My family went there for years and you’d usually see no more than maybe a dozen people in there. Must be a lot more popular now.

Just wanna shout out the first place yall went to Little Tijiuana, that place is the perfect spot to get an idea of what Minneapolis is all about, it has deep ties to the music scene, art scene, and is an all around meeting place for people of all walks of life.  So glad you went there first!

Nice video! It's good to see you two enjoyed that trip while getting plenty of sight-seeing done, and experiencing quite a number of restaurant outings. Minnesota's an underrated state in my opinion. I wish the Mall of America scene was longer, but I hope you all enjoy your next upcoming trips for 2026.
