“Stand up and tell ‘em you’re from Detroit” was an advertising campaign in the mid-1980s. The spirit of that campaign lives on in many of us who lived there.

Native Detroiter here. If I didn’t know better, I’d think that you were in New York or Paris. Although I have lived here for 71 years, I haven’t been downtown in 15 years. Your video has inspired me to plan a staycation and see Detroit as if I was a tourist. What I save in plane fare by avoiding a going abroad, will defer the cost of vacation in my own city. As a former Michigander, I’m thrilled you had a great experience in Detroit. The city is so very alive but, saddled with decades of the portrayal of a metropolis in almost apocalyptic decline, it’s going to take effort to get the word out of Detroit’s miraculous renaissance to the masses. Thank you for doing your part in that effort.

Native here. We've come a loooooong way. Videos like this wasn't a thing even just 5-10 years ago. Only recently, with the influx of building, security, and good governing have we enjoyed such prosperity. You've respresented us well, to 23,0000 people, no less, which is no small feat. It's great publicity, and brings more tourists to our city, which means more growth and opportunity for us all. we welcome ya', with open arms. Come back again, sometime :)

That clock you looked at is one of only two tiffany clocks that size in the world , our architecture is from when Detroit was the richest city by population in the world. So we hired the best in the world for everything back then . We have brought them all back to life and they are incredible!

Please come back to Detroit in the warmer months and check out our beautiful riverfront area called The Riverwalk. Also go to the Detroit Institute of Arts, and The Fisher Building for more stunning architecture!

I was downtown Detroit a few days ago. Born and raised in the city and I honestly was really proud of how things are turning out. It definitely does not feel like downtown of the past and it's honestly refreshing.
