hell even pacifist frisk never beat asriel. they simply got through to him and made him good again. you cannot beat asriel, all you can do is change his mind and turn him into an ally

worth noting that it doesnt necessarily take 7 human souls to break the barrier, but just an equivalent amount of soul power. the barrier was formed by 7 humans, but theoretically if something with enough soul power attacked the barrier, they should be able to break it. like how asriel used the monster souls' soul power as a substitute for the 7th human soul. i think itd be reasonable if a soul completely geeked off determination could have that ridiculous power level, allowing what chara did in the end of geno.

Before watching the video: Ik it was prolly said for giggles, but when Papyrus uses his “Totally normal, boring attack,” if you take it seriously that that was basic and he was doing his other attacks to go easy/be fancy, then he’d be REALLY powerful and only held back by his want to be flashy and cool and that could, only if you take his statement seriously, be way stronger than a lot of the main cast/comparable.

10:02 I don't remember exactly, but I think one of the books from Snowdin's librar(b)y said that the more cruel a human's intentions are, the more harm a monster can get from their attack, so there might be a possibility that geno Frisk kept oneshotting all the main bosses because of the player's cruel intentions, not only because they're "strong enough". And here in Mettaton NEO's case, it makes much sense in my opinion.

Now the other reason why neo doesn't attack you is because he was designed to eradicate humans but in genocide you've killed so much that you aren't even human
