Great episode!

What mostly suprises me about this is that they do this sweeping change at the end of the monthly update period. I feel like this requires more finetuning then the start of 11th

Death guard players laughing waiting for yall to find out toughness does absolutely nothing lol

It seems very clear to me that 11e is meant to be a major shake up on the maths and stat distribution we’ve been accustomed to by redefining what MEQ and MEQ-killing weapons meant to be. The fact that classical marines and classical Guardsman differ by only 1T basically just means there’s not enough maths to meaningfully differentiate the two.

T3 - unaugmented humans, Eldar rangers, Gaunts, Tau
T4 - Suited Eldar, Necron Warriors, Base Voltann
T5 - Mostly stay the same, some will go to T6.

I don’t have a problem with this, as long as we get proper point adjustments and weapon scaling the same way the Ork got their general damage buff.

Hey, just wanted to say I think this has been the most interesting conversation of w40k I have ever heard, in terms of talking about the meta. Amazing job guys!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, 11e really should've been an Index edition. It would've completely avoided this weird statline change limbo that we've found ourselves in

I play Drukhari. My main opponent is black legion. We’ve had really even games so far in 11th.

His whole army basically got +1 toughness and +1 strength. His army went up 20 points, he dropped an enhancement and now it’s the same list.

Zero changes to my list..

Just like every other edition of 40K since its inception the armies who get codexes first stomps everyone else, it’s a basic fact of life at this point I don’t know why everyone else thought it was going to change.

Traditionally shuriken catapults were the aedari equivalent to storm bolters. Wonder if thats going to return or not

As a Emperor’s Children Player, This helps in a weird way, because the Defiler is still out of stock, and I have Noise Marines. 😅

As a Drukhari player, I'm scared. I'm terrified. But we'll keep on keeping on and figure this hurdle out, too.

I think the biggest problem for CSM will be all the good flat dam3 we see popping up in greater numbers with increased efficiency in the new codexes tbh. Chosen, Possessed etc have gone up a lot in points the last two dataslates but it looks like they will die much faster in the future. They are also less likely to get a charge of before dying as we're also seeing armies getting a bit faster in general it seems.

I've been looking forward to this, I'm interested to see what the TT team think of the changes

@33rdNightfall 8 hours ago

Definitely just need bigger points hikes. Every 2k space marine list that’s not vehicles skew is bringing close to a Demi-company of space marines. A supposedly world conquering force. I’d love to see 5-15 less space marines on the board and with these stat hikes I think it’s valid.

I've just ordered an army of Praetorian Guard from Victorian Miniatures as a new job treat, and I don't mind that they are weaker; they are just little humans. I wanted to collect guards because I find them cool, and I can imagine the stories I can tell, not for the meta

@davidedwards267 1 day ago

I don’t like that they are introducing a fundamental warlord rule (da boss etc) which seems like it’s going to come for every codex. Why not just do that for everyone? Now slowly armies are going to have more resources as their books are released.
