The Emperor gives his toughest battles to his most loyal chapter

@Riesenfriese 1 day ago

25 points increase for 10 Sword Brethren is just uncalled for.

Templar rules just feel like they fall in 2 categories:
1) straight up useless
2) overlaps with another rule

GW: "Hey Templars fans, here's a detachment that revolves around the Emperor's Champion!"

Fans: "Thanks GW, that's really nice of y-"

GW: "Aaaaand it's gone."

@Riesenfriese 1 day ago

So they destroyed the Marshall+Castellan Combo, removed BT RepEx, made Crusader surge move worse, gave Emps Champ worse defensive and charge rules, made vows a 2DP detachment thats basically Companions of Vehemence (derogatory) AND nerfed the vows, we got some of the harshest point increases in the game.
What is going on? What did we do to deserve this? We were already bottom tier.

If I start Templars now, I can hopefully get in at the start of 12th and avoid this edition.

GW taking the Templars behind the shed with this one.

@PK-767 2 days ago

It's pretty apparent they want the divergent chapters to not actually diverge. You have to primarily play as Space Marines with a few units in your speciality, but not actually commit to it.

Thanks for digging my grave even deeper😭

You caught me right in the middle of my Templar list-building, Auspex you magical magical man.

@automaticmonkTV 2 days ago (edited)

I'm writing before watching- I am already not happy and have essentially stopped working on lists. I don't think this video will make that better, but we'll see.

Edit: 18 BGV it is I guess

@gunmancy 2 days ago

GW saw how popular Black Templars were and said, "F it, we can't let our fanbase have fun."

@hollowsaint2207 1 day ago

Started playing 40k for the first time about 3 months ago. First and only army is Black Templars..... this blew out my ass so bad.... lost 90% of games already annnnnd we got worse lmao.... Thanks GW

@FrozenPyro06 2 days ago

Looking dire for the coolest chapter🫠

@im2randomghgh 2 days ago

Even as a templar player, AI and BGV are going to be the backbones of any melee list unfortunately. Castellans are amazing, most of our other characters are okayish at best.

Now, Meltas on impulsors full of eradicators...

@vinhnguyen-ms3kx 1 day ago

Ok i see, another edition of oops all ultramarine in black

@GamingTalk-cl7xj 1 day ago

Just feels like everything went up too much and we getting less. If the vow kept equal T wound boost that would have helped a lot.

@plagueofjoe 2 days ago

How do we just keep getting worse?

@scott8448 1 day ago

Auspex: well every unit is a bit worse but a “side grade” not a downgrade or got a 10-20% increase in points for a single unit of toughness.
So much for BT, it’s now just blackberries

@psf03077 2 days ago

It feels like all the generic SM options are just better compared to BT versions. Crusaders are ok still, but surge just isn't what it once was. Marshall is ok, but compared to the flexibility a captain brings it just feels ok. Execrator is... A model we can run I guess. The fact our ancient still doesn't give ob sec and fight on death is 4+ just feels like salt in the wound next to the cool special rules other banners got.
