I absolutely love the way Danny completely and utterly forgot the purpose of the cat’s relevance 🤣🤣🤣

Fun fact: I recently found out that Tanjiro has a habit of collecting his loved ones' "souvenirs" like hair and in this instance Genya's tooth.

I think what people miss about the 'wrapping Nezuko in clothes' solution is that she's on fire. If demons could hide from the sun with something like clothes and umbrellas they absolutely would, but any exposed skin leads to fire and suddenly everything is burned away. Remember basically everything in this setting is made of paper, cotton and wood. Fire was a real issue in meiji and pre-meiji era Japan. City blocks had massive fire breaks, just huge wide open spaces in between buildings to try and prevent the whole city going up in flames. It's part of why the fire bombing of Kobe was so horrific.

the fact he guessed that genya was half demon is insane and also the joke about genya not providing for his mom didnt age well LMAO

So, here's a history tidbit: the swordsman doll is an automaton, a doll that moves via mechanical parts similar to a clock and is designed to do specific things sort of like the mechanical dolls we've had for basically ever. We have documentation of them existing in Babylonian times, in The Hanging Gardens, there's surviving ones that  can write, play instruments, sing, and there are records of ones in ancient Greece that served wine and even ones in ancient Japan, though to my knowledge, none survived into modern times. So, the training doll is technically historically accurate.

Fun fact, Katanas aren't very durable swords, the impressive thing about them was the fact Japanese sword smiths were able to create even somewhat usable weapons out of locally available metals, the "folded a thousand times" thing was done to try and beat the impurities out of what was basically pig iron, and even then there was a lot of waste they'd used for things that didn't need to be as durable or they'd just throw away/sell cheaply. The fact we see characters break or chip their swords so often is actually one of the most realistic aspects of the series.

“My mother almost starved to death” yeah I don’t think he has to worry about that one

“I never considered that Genya had a sexuality, let alone that he’d be into women” STOP THAT WAS SO FOUL I LAUGHED SO HARD

"Oh not the ten thousand gliding slimefish! That... That's my favorite attackname I've ever heard"
Bro was gonna roast the shit out of that name then realized he loved it 😂

Her sword is based off a real world weapon that's absolutely terrifying (and dangerous) to either fight against or to wield.

29:40 for some reason, watching Danny grin with delight at seeing a man get gruesomely dragged into a vase way too small for his body is the most terrifying thing I've seen all month 😭

The fact that all Akaza did with Rengoku is a like a warm-up exercise for him resulting him letting his guard down

This is honestly one of the few anime where I'm going "oh my god, PLEASE give me some filler!!" Because I love the plot and pacing and everything, but also I want my good good gremlin children to have a nap and a day at the zoo or something. Like please everything happens SO MUCH 😢

50:33 Gyokko does actually sell his pots which funds Muzan's projects and is apparently how he found the village, because one of the pots was sold there.

the way i watch demon slayer through danny

“You look like you belong in the Winx Club” was not a roast I expected to hear today

I think Danny's media literacy is why he's my favorite reaction youtuber. I stopped watching the others because they keep it playing and miss things, talk over stuff, and don't get certain aspects of the show. This is always great, though.

Basically. Gyokko was I think a fisherman (correct me if I’m wrong) and he made vases. And one day something happened with a kid and he stuff the kid into a pot. Baby arms << Fish << vase

No spoilers, but I will say that Uppermoon One has a very extended, but defined connection to Tanjiro that will reveal itself in the next arcs, although not the way you might expect.

I'm putting very minor spoilers about Tanjiro under here.

Tanjiro is not any sort of chosen one, nor any sort of prophesized person. He was just lucky.

There were many other people who would have done the job much better than him, but never had the opportunity to do so. If you go back to season two, he says this. Just a hint, but Tanjiro mentions that he was not born with his mark.

I will say this though. There was one person before Tanjiro. Just one.

The immediate backpedal when the demon grows and grabs tanjiro is HILARIOUS!!!
