"How does the blob work?"
"That's the neat part, it doesn't!"

Bro took years to cover the simplest enemy in the game 🙏

I love how this enemy is super bugged but since it's so simple nobody really noticed.

we're getting closer to the ai behind roaming locust

Bro finally made slime ai

The blob AI has changed in the new v80 beta! The most relevant change is that the roaming phase now triggers correctly, meaning blobs should no longer camp doors. The blob resizing code was altered, but still seems to contain some issues

One other bug with the Hygrodere that affects all versions of the game:
When tamed, it's supposed to deal no damage and speed up, unless it still has an anger meter present. There was a small oversight with implementing this though. The game checks for the anger meter to be less than zero, but the meter starts out at zero, meaning the blob cannot be tamed when it first spawns in. If you hit the blob with a shovel to trigger the anger meter, the meter will (usually) overshoot zero, making it possible to tame

I never thought about that, but the Hygodere is literally the imortal snail

Wow this video has single-handedly convinced me that we need a blob overhaul update.

4:20 is terrifying LMAO.

Important note about tamed phase:
The blob is NOT intended to deal damage while tamed. However, due to a bug, this behavior only triggers if it has been angered at least once prior.

> "This enemy has been bugged for years. I have not covered it because I was waiting for a bug fix. Looks like that's not happening so here goes."

> Nine days later Hygrodere bugfix releases.

😂

WE ARE BACK TO THE COMPANY THATS LETHAL!

1:36 that’s a bug??????? I thought that was literally a feature. literally half of this is just me not knowing the slime was bugged for years, I genuinely just thought it was supposed to do those things. edit THEY CAN FREAKING DIE???? I HAVE BEEN LIVING A LIE FOR YEARS

Cosco man's dreams and prayers finally getting answered with this video

VERSION 80 UPDATE:
- Fixed Hygrodere not properly morphing to accomodate the environment
- Fixed Hygrodere not changing size based on variables
- Fixed Hygrodere camping the main entrance when it would follow a player to the main entrance

the hydrogere has such complex AI that it took you like 2 years to learn everything about the code

1:31 No wonder why Eevee and Nick immediately died trying to go back in.

The amount of focus i give to watch alterego's AI vids 💀

Wow! I didn't realize it was so bugged lol. I didn't even realize the blob was this indepth or even had a anger meter

“Better late then never” ahh video 🥀🥀🥀

But no really, you’re awesome man. Love the videos. 👍
