Pentimento is the traces of an earlier painting that remain visible beneath a later layer of paint - proof that what was once erased can still survive beneath the surface.

An artist picks up his brush and brings an entire world to life. But while he paints, something unexpected is happening inside the canvas: a story is unfolding alongside his own. As the artist's own life changes over the years, so does the world inside his painting.
