Although this is a really heartbreaking story, calling it the most disturbing is very overdramatic. There are no suspicious or unusual circumstances. He drown at the beach and the body was lost at sea. Sad, but it happens.

My dad was missing at sea for weeks not knowing where or how he went missing was heartbreaking, luckily his body washed ashore across the river weeks later so mum and we had closure   I recall the nightmares I had at the time thinking he was injured laying in mud I wouldn't wish that on anyone   I hope answers are found for both the unknown person and Lucy

C&A was also sold in the uk in the 80’s

What about genealogy DNA?

There was someone who drowned at Hunstanton beach, Norfolk, UK. 5 months later, he was found at Stora Komo beach in Sweden.

What if Lucy isn’t really his child? It does happen more than we know!! They should have taken dna from his siblings aswell… the path of him being washed up, only 10 days later and the blue shorts all points to him!!

The rip tide got him dragged him down and out to sea. God bless

Should have tested the brother's DNA, not the daughter's.

So Interpol informs all the relevant countries when a body is washed up. Why weren't dental records considered at that time? Would have ruled out man in France back then. Also, the fact that the shorts were fairly distinctive  (navy blue with white stripes and a brand sold in France) There is something odd in this story. Why would the lifeboat not take him back to shore? For what reason would his daughter consider abandonment? Hope they get the closure they need eventually. Sadly, there are people who drown all over the world who are washed out to sea and never found.

Why wouldn't they take tissue samples BEFORE the body is buried!

Umm...? I thought there was a lifeboat? But he swam to shore? Sounds weird. He drowned. No mystery.
