Imagine going missing and nobody misses you? Poor man 😢

Dear Body Detectives,
Thank you for giving Vincent an identification.
R.I.P Vincent 🕊️

My dad used to own a shop in the Clapham Junction area in the 90s. I asked him if he knew of a deaf mute black homeless man and he said yes. I then showed him the image of Vincent and he said he believes it was the same person. Given how distinctive the description is, I think it probably was too.
My dad remembered Vincent as quite reserved, which makes me think about what the Nigerian restaurant owner suggested when saying he may not have had much of a support network. Very upsetting story, but I'm glad he was identified.
Rest In Peace Vincent 🕊

So sad his family didn’t claim him, even sadder is strangers showed more empathy, RIP Vincent

he was abandoned due to his disabilities, poor man was mute, that's why he was alone. This made me cry :(

Vincents story - it’s heartbreaking to imagine how isolated he must have felt! This makes me so sad knowing he was so vulnerable and he passed in this way all alone 💔

I’m a funeral director in the UK and we request from our families to keep all records safely and indefinitely so that future generations can have some form of reference long after everyone involved in funeral arrangements are gone. We get so much positive response on this from our families.
Funeral is soon to become regulated which don’t get me wrong absolutely needs to happen! But I fear the legislations will be made by people who are used to legislating less personal industries meaning that record keeping etc will be stopped. It will be a shame and it will make investigations such as this even more difficult.
You’re doing amazing work guys thank you for your service.
Rest in peace Vincent ❤

Im disappointed in the family’s response. There’s alot of unanswered questions . The team have done a brilliant job. The system is flawed. Rest in peace Vincent.

This is inspiring, I love to see a community come together to give this young man their identity back.

Rest in peace Vincent. Bit disappointed in his family that they didn’t want to be more involved. What a neglect for disabled folk also

RIP VINCENT!!! OUR BREDDA, YOU ARE NO LONGER IN PAIN OR ALONE....IT IS WELL OUR GUY!!!PEACE & LOVE

😥😥 Aww! How very sad. To have passed in this terrible way and no one to report a missing person. RIP young man. Thank you team for giving this gentleman an identity.

How awful for this poor man.  He froze !!  lying outside where many lay in their warm beds, in London.  Such a tragedy.  RIP Vincent.

This made me so sad and brought me to tears. I hope Vincent’s spirit is somewhere in the universe living in comfort. 😢❤

Locate cares more than the family do, more than people who knew him do. His family knew he died and they do not want anything further to do with it. A change in system isn't going to make families care more than they do.

You can choose your friends but unfortunately not your family.

His family are disgraceful. Let’s call it what it is. The only tribute to him was made by the detectives. A disgusting family that brutally discarded him as a nuisance because he had no value for them.

Thank you to the investigators who worked diligently to discover the identity, but who got no thanks from the relatives. Placing a wreath in the cemetery was a very humane gesture to the memory of the poor deceased man.

How did the family know he had passed away? Wow that's so sad. I hope to never have family like that

Sometimes the worst thing you can have is family!
