Women are far better off without a late-in-life entanglement. There are so many Lotharios out there, variously dangerous. Enjoy your garden, your dogs, your family, enjoy hobbies, volunteering, and well-earned peace, enjoy good books, good food, and early-to-bed. To heck with "charming" men.

It never too late to be a scumbag. And you're never too old to be a fool for 'love'.

How was he 63? He looked more like 93. Horrible 'man'.

I'm 63 yo and happily married.  IF I should find myself single in the future, I would NEVER consider re-marrying.  Too many crazies out there.  RIP PaT Goodband

If I told my kids not to call or visit, they would be at my home as a matter of urgency. How sad, poor woman.

A lying covert narcissistic psychopath. My heart completely goes out to the family, so sorry for your pain.

How sad. Aging people should be safe seeking companionship without being abused or murdered.

Rest in peace Patricia , I’m so glad that her killer was caught and is being punished for it .

Being a Registered Nurse in Medicare Rehab I can tell of many stories like this. Parents sometimes cut kids off or decrease contact. Not just the kids moving out or kids moving on but their parents moving on. When the parents get older they may take up friendships with shifty people. Poor kids left to sort out what happened.

Extremely sad what happened to Pat. If I told my kids not to visit, they would want to know why, and do a random unannounced visit anyway.
I bet you the woman who wrote the card, won't ever do that again after getting 6 mths jail.
Be very careful when people ask you to lie or cover for them or write things that don't make sense, as you can be stung for it.

Whats more shocking is he is 63, looks near 80.

Why would a woman leave money and a house to a man that is not her husband or even her boyfriend? It is my opinion that for a woman to leave that much money to a man in her will she is basically signing her death warrant.

That old man is really cruel ..He pretend to be friended but had in mind for eliminating her...
He deserves life in prison...nobody wants to be around him ...😬

My first question, why was it acceptable to hear someone say their wife had died, and then hear their 3 children had died also?  No queries or even curiosity seemed to have arisen. It's so easy to trust other people. Im hoping i learn from this chilling, frightening documentary. The police were wonderful, very hard working and caring.

Chris had lied for so long to so many people and gotten away with it, that he assumed he was cleverer than everyone else! He thought he had committed the perfect crime, but thank God for the good police men and women who actually did their job properly and followed the evidence.

Sadly Pat didn't have a very close relationship with her daughter. When she said she phoned her mum once a month I nearly fell off my chair! My siblings and I phone my mother every night - we each have our own timeslot! 😂

I'm not judging the daughter because no one knows anyone else's relationship, but it's clear they weren't close.

Either way, the poor woman didn't deserve to be murdered. She was clearly a capable, intelligent, hard working woman who just had very bad taste in men. Sadly there are many, many women in her position to this day. 😢

A snake sheds its skin, but it's still a snake.

Seems to be a classic psychopath. Charming, kind, and sucks life and money out of you like a vampire.

Moral of the story: don't trust new "business partners" at any age or stage of life, unless you meet their family/friends often. Surround yourself with good trustworthy caring friends. RIP Patricia, let your soul finds peace now. Amen.

It's such a shame. This poor lady didn't have someone to look out for her😢

When I see the photo of Patricia at the end with those beautiful GSD’s the sadness of it all hit me.  RIP.
