Thank you guys as always!

As a Japanese person, I can personally vouch for how accurate and genuinely helpful this video is—I'd recommend it 100%. While this topic has become quite a common trend lately, I’m concerned that many videos prioritize views over accuracy, leading to a lot of misinformation being spread. In contrast, your approach is based on calm, objective observation and solid, well-researched information. I was deeply impressed by your sincere commitment to making trust your top priority. Your content truly deserves at least 100,000 subscribers. Please keep up the excellent work!

I’m Japanese, and thank you for kindly introducing our country.

We Japanese usually like everyone, except for rude or offensive people.
If you need help during your trip, don’t hesitate to ask Japanese people.
Many Japanese can’t speak English well, but we will try our best to help you.
Using “Sumimasen,” which means “Excuse me,” is perfect if you need to ask something in Japan.
We like to help foreigners who try to be polite.

Sorry for my poor English.

It's all spot on information. A YouTuber that doesn't act like a YouTuber... how refreshing.

When using taxis. Put your address in your phone in Japanese. To show the taxi driver.  Using Google translate. It really helps the taxi driver.

On my trip to Japan, construction workers bowed to me as I walked past them on the street !  A man on the patio at a restaurant chased after a paper napkin that was blowing down the street. Electric bikes were left unlocked on the street. Conclusion: Japan is one of the safest, cleanest, and respectful places on the planet.

I’m a professional tour guide and have lived in Japan for 40-plus years, and want to applaud this effort.

The only amendment I would make is about household and personal trash. Japanese people say they “take it home” when they mean they take it home if they don’t come across a convenience store with a trash can marked “no personal or household trash”.

Japanese people will discretely and apologetically put such trash in those bins, knowing few people will make a big fuss over small things.

Absolutely loved the video. Excellent work!

I’ve been to Osaka and Kyoto twice in the past 3 years. All of the videos I watched said don’t take taxis because they are too expensive. Out of necessity, because of extra luggage upon leaving, I had to use a taxi. From my hotel by Nijo Castle I took a 20 minute ride to Kyoto Station for $10 USD using the GO app.  The driver spoke english and I had an enriching coversation with him along the way. Some are on a tight budget and I get that, but for me the taxi option was totally worth the price. The convenience was worth the added expense, which really wasn’t that much.  I totally agree with Abby on that point. I will be using the taxi option more on my next trip.

Thanks Abby.  I consider yours as the best channel to get tips for Japan travels.  No BS, always sensible, and no clickbait vibes.

I like watching her, feels like so real, not being pushy and fake at all. thanks for all the info

What a straight to the point no BS, no glamour, no virtue signaling video, thank you for making it! Subscribed!

Dear Abi and Tappei!!! we saw u sitting there! 🤩🥳 at minute 3:45 u see us riding our rented bikes, me looking again in disbelief that we just saw u sitting there hahaha 🫶 we did not want to interrupt since u were filming but totally wanted to say hi! Thank you so much for your content, you guys helped us a lot, especially for kyoto 🙏🥰✨ sending love, Kay & Sabrina

“Anxiety hooks” is such a great description of the current state of social media. Bravo!

Excellent advice, agree 100%. My biggest takeaways from a 3 week trip: 1) pack light - 1 backpack only 2) use taxis in busy areas like kyoto. They arent expensive like Los Angeles. It’ll save you so much time, and stress.

Hey Abi, just got back from our first trip to Japan. We watched many of your videos and found them extremely helpful. We think your videos on YouTube are really well done and extremely informative. Thank you for creating such great content for travellers to Japan, we will suggest your channel to all our friends for their future trips to Japan. We are great big fans Abi. You truly enhanced our trip and experience to Japan. Keep up the great work.  Brian and Heather from Calgary, Canada

10:13 David Bowie joke did not go unnoticed on me

The GO app is amazing and the taxis (compared to NYC) are a bargain. Also, the taxi drivers are so kind and helpful. I have a dozen different stories of kindness from drivers.

I love how you explain cultural differences and the respectful way you speak about these. Such great info for anyone visiting Japan.

When she was talking about trash cans, I would give anything to see the guy walking behind her throw trash on the ground.  I know a Japanese person would not do this, but it would be sooo funny.

Thanks for informing people that Japan just has it's own way of doing things that have both advantages and disadvantages but usually make sense. When I'm looking at reviews on Google maps it's always a challenge to filter out the reviews that are just people complaining about cover charges or the waiter refusing to make changes to a 700 yen dish.
