I love this take on Vampires, having them not only embrace technology but seemingly improve it was a twist I was not expecting. Really makes sense honestly!

Of all the anime that get pumped out year after year, I pray I live to see Vampire Hunter D get a full anime. Great content as usual. Keep it up 😄👍

Magnus Lee is over 10,000 years old. He admits that because of this he’s extremely bored. He admits that’s why he goes after Doris because “mating with a human female” is one of the few activities he still enjoys and can temporarily alleviate his boredom.

As far as humans not knowing vampire weaknesses, that was intentional. It’s been many years since I read it but, if I’m remembering correctly, it’s because of the vampire’s superior technology. The bread into humans almost a genetic amnesia. They can’t remember the weaknesses. If they discover a weakness by accident or are told it by someone like D, the human will forget it again in mere moments.

I always took the reason that D hated vampires and his father to be a connection to Eastern European folklore. In real world folklore dhampir are born with an intense hatred for vampires and their vampire parent. They also have the innate ability to see vampires at all times, even if shapeshifted or invisible. So the stories say they would hire themselves out has hunters. This led to charlatans claiming to dhampir rolling around on the ground saying they were fighting an invisible vampire just to con people out of money. So in the world of Vampire Hunter D I just assumed the creator added this trait to his dunpeals, the in universe term for dhampir, since he was so inspired by folklore.

He doesnt show hatred or despise vampires at all. He simple states that their time is over. We are but transient guests.

Basically, vampires manipulated the world to suit their needs, and they are manipulate humanity in Vampire Hunter D’s world.

V Hunter D was one of the life changing animes that I discovered in the early 90's.

Vampire Hunter D is what got me into anime.  It's seriously underrated in my opinion.  Would love more movies or a series on Vampire Hunter D.

It's mentioned that the Vampires have genetically altered humans not capable of retaining memories of any Vampire weaknesses beyond swords/steaks and the sun. Edit: A much higher level of detail on this one...I feel like he's been listening to us bicker about things.

I’m so happy I knew about these movies well before the “Twilight” craze.

In the books, D does have Vampire folklore weaknesses,  but to a lesser degree than full vampires.

It's actually genius lmao. Nuclear war sets humanity back to the "stone age" but since vampires are immortal they can just wait for generations to pass, each forgetting past technology, then they just come out with the knowledge and power to re make such tech and use it to rule over humans.

Vampire Hunter D is such a great character ❤️

I love the Vampire Hunter D content you're putting out!! Please keep it up. The 1st movie was my intro to anime(not really, just knowing what anime was) I never understood why anime or more movies weren't made

I’m a bit disappointed in this one.  Leila was very proud and gets a bit more humble and realist in her outlook when the other Marcus Family members die off.  Ultimately Leila accepts that she is mortal.  

There’s also the fact that humans had their genes altered for domestication, to make them forget about the usual vampiric weaknesses, although even that special genetic design to prevent rebellion by the humans has cracks over the millennia, where some humans end up not fully going by that genetic design anyway.

You went from 1999 with the holocaust to a thousand years later before the nobles really started intervening and then a thousand years after that that they were in full control. Then next thing you’re talking about 12,000 AD when humans kicked the nobles out of the capital city or something like that. That’s a pretty huge gap my guy.

For everyone wanting more Vampire D    The novels have been translated.  And tbh I think they are waaay better than the anime ( and the anime movies are awesome).

Great video but if I recall it right the vampires had nothing to do with nuclear holocaust but simply were able to forsee it and prepared to raise civilization back up
Also the sacred ancestors is atleastvas old as the earth itself there are so many books its an incredible series this is a great video and  I am happy for any exposure for this masterpiece of a series might fact check a few things before tge next video you do
