Supergirl is one of the worst performing comic book movies in the history of the superhero genre. Even worse than Morbius and The Marvels. That is quite a bar to reach. A bar that James Gunn is fully responsible for. Both with his terrible choices of Writer and Director, aswell as his inability to recognise a good script, despite his constant reassurances and promises to the contrary.
Supergirl is a terrible second instalment to the DCU andJames Gunn's universe has lost a severe amount of its good will. How did it lose that good will?
Oh, and Milly Alcock was not good as Supergirl.

This is a terrible adaptation, first off Kara in the book is not an alcoholic, she's only drunk in the first page specifically because it's her birthday.
Second ,Ruthye is the POV character of the book whose character arc ties directly to Krara..
Third , Krem is more of an intentionally pathetic villain rather than needlessly evil .
Fourth , Kara is a more sensible character and actually acts like a big sister figure to Ruthye .
The ending of the book has more narrative cohesion and ties the character arcs perfectly.
Fifth, The book has a psychedelic look rather than the movies muddy look.
Sixth, the book is more a space fantasy rather than the movies Sci-fi
It should have more orchestral music over the needle drops that were just unnecessary
That said, I think Clayface and ESPECIALLY Man Of Tomorrow NEEDS to succeed if the DCU is to survive…
Edit: Not gonna lie though. Lobo in this movie looks like Aquaman after he walked out of a Kiss concert 🤣
Nothing in this movie works: the screenplay, the music, the scenarios, and the action scenes. Its only saving grace, for me, is Milly Alcock, who carries this underwhelming movie on her back, despite a flimsy screenplay. I hate saying this, but Chuck Dixon was right about Gunn's DCU, and Supergirl has successfully made me walk away from superheroes permanently, to the point of my praying the genre is released from its misery once and for all.
Yeah this movie was a dud for me, not that I was expecting something great but I was just hoping I was wrong. I actually got more respect for Superman after seeing this
