It’s so refreshing to see two brilliant women discussing cool facts of history and laughing loudly in these troubled times… Thank you both!

I'm so glad there are teacher historians like you two who work so hard to make history accessible.

Real historians educate so that people can be better informed and understand how choices of today lead to consequences of tomorrow. Keep up the good work!

I can't express enough how much both of you have enlightened me, comforted me, and educated me. Frankly, I think I would have been in a corner crying somewhere if I hadn't started listening! Thankyou.

This is one of my favorite 30-40 minute time blocks of the week!!  THANK YOU for allowing us to eavesdrop on your brilliant conversations and your friendship.

Good morning women! Thank you for giving us a space to gather with like minded people. ❤❤

Thank you so much for your discussion on academic and public history. As a historic site manager for many years, I really appreciate the contributions public history plays in the discourse on our shared heritage.

We need historians now more than ever!! I really appreciate you two for all you do! 🙌🏻🙏🏻

It takes courage to see the darkness and allow it to be brought into the light of the consciousness to heal and make amends.  Truth and history are crucial for this process. The health of any society is dependent on this. Keep up the great work.

I have to wonder why anyone would want to learn false history; because then it’s not history; it’s propaganda.

Thank you both for having this weekly conversation. Always appreciate you both.

If I may share a frustration.  My ancestors came to Pennsylvania in 1693. His home is on the grounds of the Birdsboro Steel museum.  My family fought in the revolutionary war. Now these new comers want to tell me what our history should be.

I live in California. We have a lot of immigrants. We are a vibrant and wonderful culture because of our immigrants. My country is being stolen from me. Not by immigrants, by racists and authoritarians.

I'm a history teacher and got the question from a student once that she found history hard and that she didn't understand it. It was an aha moment. I tried the relevancy approach after that. Love you both! Joanne, get Will Bunch for press coverage!

Heather I would love it if you could take us down the climate change rabbit hole you alluded to.

And thank you both for this- your presence here got my birthday back on track after a rough start to the day. Appreciate all you both do for us every single day.

Brilliant talk! Distillation of things to the regular folks is one of the most under appreciated skills there is. I’m a geologist/hydrologist/water chemist and I’m constantly trying to engage people on water and geology and it’s always challenging to translate topics into plain language. It’s a skill that so many people need to cultivate.

Please continue to do what you do!

Anne Applebaum stated on Washington Week last night/Friday, July 17, that Lindsey Graham would be remembered for going back on everything he stood for. I found her comment haunting, especially in light of his legacy sliding through the cracks in such quick time.

Good morning beautiful and brilliant lady bosses of history♡

Thank you for being accessible!! ❤❤❤ to both of you

I completed my BA in History in 2019 around the same time I was introduced to the works of Dr. Heather Cox Richardson by my amazing professor Dr. Blake Slonecker. While I attended six different colleges and universities since 1991, I changed my majors, moved several times, worked 60+ hours a week, got married, owned businesses and became a mother. I felt ashamed for decades because I hadn’t finished my degree, yet I could not be more grateful that I received the bulk of my education in History exactly when, where, and with whom I did! My capstone focused on Ella Baker and the Black Freedom Movement & SNCC, as well as Dolores Huerta of the United Farm Workers movement, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and US Labor Secretary Frances Perkins—the women “behind” men such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Cesar Chavez, and FDR. I believe my delayed, but improved, academic experiences prepared me for this moment. Thank you both for helping me stay connected to Historiography and encouraging my pursuits in research & writing through the resistance!🤗📚📝
