A hobbit sized quest!

Which, from my readings, can span from "need to get more cheese (yummy!)" to "oh yeah, this old guy made this cursed ring, and you have to throw it into that guy's Special Furnace (annoying!)".

Every year at the Siege of Fort Niagara 1759 event in New York, I join an 18th century dress-in-a-day demonstration, and it's honestly one of the best moments of my entire year. Some years we do 3 dresses in 3 days! It's pretty much the same process as you show, with the head dressmaker doing the draping early in the morning and then directing 6-8 other ladies on what parts to sew. The magic happens we we attach all our individual pieces to together until we are all huddled around one garment, each sewing  one little segment of the hem by late afternoon. It blows my mind every single time!

This is what Ren Faire Use to be like For me. It was AMAZING, it was this HUGE Family of people who were So Loving, So Sharing, So Protective, So Close, all those things you Kind of Dream about in a Family, because they Knew the Only way it worked was if Everyone pulled together and supported Each other. It Was SO Lovely! I miss it DEARLY.

Yay, collaborative sewing is the best! I attended my first 14th century event this year and had bought a dress from a seamstress and started sewing another one but ofc it wasn't done by the time the event started and I sewed on it every day but it was nearing the end of the event and the dress was still not done, so one evening three pairs of hands worked on it to finish the hem and the inside seams and it was so lovely that people I barely knew helped me finish this that it makes this dress extra special to me :)
