What I’ve admired about this channel is the fact you’ve got loads of knowledge and experience about Cubs - 2nd to none. This history vid proves it. Superb!
I'm in my 70's and ridden bikes as long as I can remember, mostly big Japanese, American and German (750cc to 1801cc), those have now gone. I've got a Super Cub coming in October and can't wait. You, my dear friend have been an inspiration to me to get one. Thank you.
Thanks Martin great video of your history of cub ownership , as you know your videos was the inspiration of my ownership of a super cub and it hasn’t disappointed in any way . Me and the mrs thank you for your entertainment and hard work you put into your videos keep them coming. All the best . Lea
What a declaration of love for the cub. I’m astonished that the Velosolex was able to keep the pace with the other mopeds. Usually they are not faster than 20 kph or 12 mph.
My dad gave me a tatty honda c70( I think may have been a 50) when I was 14. He owned a garage with a scrap yard at rear where the recovered smashed cars were kept. He was a master mechanic so taught me all about it stripped it and rebuilt it. Where my joys started. At the rear of the garage I built a track with small jumps and banked curves, me and my mates had so much fun riding crashing etc. it’s what started my journey. Now 69yrs. Still have a place in my heart these bikes. Had a c70/90 125 innova.always commuted on 5he se type bikes. Put 75k on the innova in 10 years. Was still running and in lovely nick but needed new exhaust. Now like twist and go scoots because of the weather protection and no chain😂to oil. Currently have an x max 250 and have ridden it uk to Gibraltar twice. These have a place in my heart but I like a little bit more poke. When I was a kid c50/70/90 were everywhere. I even had a yamaha townmate t80 with yes shaft drive. Love watching your escapades and admire your skill set and very enjoyable vlogs. Paint it silver you have the skills. Incidentally my honda innova 125 had zero breakdowns at 75 k miles and compression was only slightly down than when new. Guy picked it up in a 406 estate 😂. I am a fan of the twist and gos now but their economy is pants. Also had an sh300i bloody fast for a tiny bike. Still hooked on the channel cos of these lovely little bikes. What I like is maintenance can all be done by idiots like me😂
Great trip down memory lane for you fella, so nice you can look back on all them good and nostalgic times with such fondness, and with a smile on your face, you seem to have definitely found one of them things that has accompanied you through your life, and added to and brought so much pleasure and fun.We always treasure them things no matter what they are. And one of yours are them little cubs. Brilliant👍
Super story and congratulations Martin on the 10K !.I'm sure the fastidious maintenance routine you carry out will prove that she will last indefinitely and no need to replace .I've had well over a 100 bikes in my lifetime of all sizes and would rate Honda's finest tiddlers as amongst the best that will last forever if cared for.I've just bought a 6-year old one owner Z125 with just 150 miles at a great price , and couldn't resist it but waiting for a yellow C125 to become available to match my 50 year old C70 that I would never part with .
My 2022 Honda grom has 23, 000 kms on it still on the same battery, still goes as hard as the day i rode it out of the showroom, like all small Hondas they go for ever. 👍🇦🇺
Enjoy your vids Mart. I too have owned many, many motorcycles and would concur about the SC. It always puts a smile on my face. I love the feel, it’s light, small, super smooth, and handles very well. Over here in the States big bikes rule and riders look down on you for riding little bikes. They just don’t get it.
We all have a bike that pull the heart strings. Mine is my immaculate shinny 2020 Bullet 500 EFI, absolute love the pants off it. My first 2017 Bullet l loved to bits and was my forever bike until a car rearranged the looks. I think l feel so strongly because of loosing my first one in a blink of an eye also Bullet ownership is addictive and ride l thoroughly enjoy as well as the old schoolness. This bike will be with me to the end and then my son will be owner and rider but he has said it will always be my bike.
A very good endorsement of the Super Cub. I think that one of the best bikes Honda ever made was the CB175, which I had in the early early 80's and I had cause, one fateful day, to ride it from Glasgow to Norwich in one go and it was heavy rain for most of the way. That engine never missed a beat - absolutely bullet proof and a pity Honda ever stopped making them.
Great vid, lovely to hear your experiences, yup the cud guru, love the little things met up with a guy last Wednesday nite on our way to a bike meet, Knott End, he was on a 90, great machines, good vid thanks for your time to do it ted
