The court pressed Lt-Gen Shadrack Sibiya’s defence over an untranscribed voice note referred to during proceedings on 7 October 2026.

The court heard that the voice note had allegedly been forwarded to Mrs M by Mr M but had not been transcribed.

Questions arose over why the defence had referred to the voice note if its contents were not being placed before the court.

“But then why do you mention it?” the court asked, before questioning its significance to the evidence.

The defence indicated that it was taking instructions on the issue and requested a short adjournment.

The exchange came as the court continued examining recordings, transcripts, messages and other evidence being dealt with during the proceedings.

Any allegations surrounding the voice note remain subject to examination before the court.
