Dramatic audio transcripts involving Lt-Gen Shadrack Sibiya and a man referred to in court as Mr M took centre stage in proceedings on 7 October 2026.
In one recording, a speaker identified in court as the applicant tells Mr M that he had financially supported him, mentioning R10,000 and R4,000 and saying he had even given him his card to buy groceries.
“I took you like my little brother,” the transcript records the speaker saying.
The speaker then accuses Mr M of speaking badly about him and allegedly telling others to have him arrested.
In another recording presented to court, Mr M warns another man not to become involved after the man describes being approached about contact relating to “CBA”. That conversation also contains a reference to “the issue of the money” and an allegation concerning the closing of a case.
Mr M is heard warning the man not to become a messenger or make calls concerning the matter.
A further clip introduced during the proceedings contained allegations of a “succession battle” and claims that law-enforcement structures were being used to target individuals.
The recordings and their contents are evidence being presented before the court and remain subject to examination and the court’s findings.
IMPORTANT: The R10,000 and R4,000 mentioned in the recording were described as previous financial support. The excerpts heard do not establish that those specific amounts were connected to an attempt to close a case.
