🙏 Maha Periyava | Why did he nominate P.V. Narasimha Rao as the Prime Minister? | Kanchi Mahan

At a crucial turning point in Indian politics… Why did Maha Periyava nominate P.V. Narasimha Rao as the Prime Minister? Why was So Ramasamy curious to know the reason for this?

This Episode begins with the political situation of the 1990s, the Chandrasekhar regime, the death of Rajiv Gandhi and the subsequent predicament faced by the Congress party.

The post says that Maha Periyava felt that at that time, someone with experience and versatile knowledge was needed to lead India. The Episode explains that P.V. Narasimha Rao, who was elected as an MP several times from the Congress party, had experience in serving as a minister in many departments including law, health, home, external affairs, and human resource development.

So Ramasamy had only one question: “Why nominate Narasimha Rao? Is there no one else?”

The incident says that when Cho went to Kanchipuram with his friends to visit Maha Periyava, Periyava asked him, “Don’t you want to know why I did that?” Periyava was surprised to know how Cho had talked to his friends in the car near Tambaram.

The episode says that Periyava later explained the reason for his decision. The record says that he needed someone with experience to lead the country and wanted someone from South India to get the chance to become the Prime Minister.

Accordingly, P.V. Narasimha Rao became the Prime Minister and the episode says that he ruled for five years.
