🙏 Periyava came on foot for a poor devotee! | Maha Periyava's amazing grace

It was the lifelong wish of a poor hotel server to go to Kanchipuram and see Maha Periyava. His monthly salary was Rs. 5. He had no money, no leave… but his devotion to see Periyava did not diminish.

At the same time, Maha Periyava had come to Madurai for the Kumbabhishekam of the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple. The temple committee chairman P.T. Rajan came to take Periyava in a new Ambassador car. But Periyava refused to go in the car.

This incident is narrated as he only gave his blessings to his love, saying, “The ascetic has some dharma. He should not accept anything that is easy.”

But there was another reason behind Periyava's refusal to go in the car.

A server named Anantharaman was working in a small hotel near the Madurai temple. He had immense devotion to Maha Periyava. This episode tells us that Periyava, knowing his condition of not being able to go to Kanchipuram and have darshan, came to the temple on foot like an ordinary devotee in the early morning without anyone knowing.

Seeing Periyava near the Pottramarai pond, Anantharaman was overcome with emotion and shed tears of joy. Periyava went to him and asked, “What is your job?”

“I am a server at the hotel, Periyava,” he replied.

To this, Periyava encouraged him to do the job well and blessed him. Also, when asked what the famous food was at the hotel, Anantharaman says, “Akkaravadisal.”

This devotional incident explains that Periyava came to Madurai to give darshan to that poor devotee who could not go to Kanchipuram.

At the same time, the record says that Periyava took care not to upset another abbot who was worried that he would lose respect during the Kumbabhishekam.

This Episode highlights the grace of Maha Periyava, who is said to have seen the condition of many in a single event, such as giving darshan to a poor devotee, blessing the love of P.T. Rajan, and resolving the grievance of another abbot.

Later, when P.T. Rajan came to know about the matter, it is said that he came to the Pottamarai pond and took Periyava away with full Kumbh respect.

🙏 Watch this touching incident in full, where it is said that Maha Periyava understood the condition of his devotees and bestowed grace upon them in the way they needed.
