You're the first vlogger I've seen making a reference to "Lost Horizon" when it comes to Shangri-La, loved it. It's sometimes easy to overlook how much research and planning goes into the making of such high quality content, to not only make the videos engaging but also extremely informative and factually accurate. Another absolute banger, Amy! Keep up the awesomeness and looking forward to the 500k subs, almost there.

p.s. It was also very interesting to see how much the food in this video overlaps with the cuisine of Bhutan, especially with the heavy use of yak meat and dairy as well as barley, and of course, the momos (which are quite different from Nepali momos).

I rarely comment but this time I feel like to say something, thanks a lot Amy for showing what China really looks like to the world. We Chinese don't even know a lot about certain cultures in detail and haven’t even been to that many places. And of course, the editing is great as always. Loved the Yunnan series so much!! I can't tell you how much it means to me as someone raised in America but born in Yunnan to see my local cultures and places I loved visiting in childhood so beautifully represented on screen, without prejudice, without a sense of superiority, just you and your camera getting a genuine glimpse of what life in China is like. Love everything about this channel and you've gained a lifelong subscriber!

6:29 how did you convince over 20 people to come help with that? That's impressive 😁 I can't even convince 1 person to do anything 🙈
What an amazing opportunity, to be able to join that family for such a special, once a year meal! Talk about getting lucky, you got all of it that day! ❤ That looked absolutely amazing. 🤤 I'd go, but a an asthma patient, even though only a mild form, I would probably experience some difficulties at that altitude. Also I'm from the Netherlands, we're mostly below sea-level😅 and I don't think I have your skills of connecting with people, so no family dinners for me 🙈 I don't speak mandarin either, but I could probably make them understand by playing this video and using some hand and feet gestures to 'explain' 😂

Fun fact: After the novel gained fame, several places across three provinces in China competed to claim the name. The now-known Shangri-La was formerly called 中甸 (Zhongdian) and was once just a small pastoral town before it was renamed.
