crazy part is his 2nd half ops is 1.349 with only a .243??? BABIP!

Wilytics + Red Sox specific content = my kind of nerdy baseball content

In 2024, Mickey Gasper hit a bunch of balls on the screws right at people.  He's a local guy, so his parents were at every game, waiting for that first hit to drop.  The slash line definitely doesn't fully reflect his performance -- he had a .321 xwOBA and 40% sweet-spot rate.  It basically became a running joke that year that the powers that be just wouldn't let anything fall in for a hit.

The other thing I'll point out this year is that his success has come almost entirely from the left side.  He is not the same hitter at all as a righty, and limiting him almost entirely to the left side has paid huge dividends for him and the team.

I’ll do you one better, why is micky gasper?

Dude, honestly what in the fuck is this guy and where in the fuck did he come from? He’s a maniac and menace to watch during an AB.

He changed his facial hair and had a hall of famer month. Coincidence? I think not.

His OBP was very high for AA, I feel like teams thought it was a small sample size but he has had solid stats across the board

I went to a jays game last year and jeff hoffman gave up a game tying nuke to this guy, even though he had a sub 400 ops at the time. I was thinking "who tf is this bum??" and he shut me up real good. Not surprised he's getting barry bonds comps now

Crazy the Sox sent him down, even if it was only for like a day

That's Evil Mickey, baby

I have been waiting for some to make a Mickey Gasper video. Thank you.

Dont u ever doubt a mick playing in boston my friend.

He's Catching too

I noticed they both went with your standard p.E d's bonds with the cream and clear mickey with the mountain.Boy mustache❤

Just came across your channel and am loving the videos! do you have a second channel by any chance? I feel like I've seen another channel with above replacement in the name

As someone who watched a lot of early 2025 Twins baseball, I don't understand anything that is happening with him right now. Him and Dashawn Keirsey Jr. were my least favorite players in the league. I do recall him being a AAA menace for the saints though

I’ve been talking about Mickey Gasper non-stop since 8/17

My king

Whatever happens with the rest of his career, he'll have this. 27th rounder who once put up Barry Bonds stats for a month.

saw him at polar park during the cedanne gold glove bobblehead game. Nothing but bombs from mickey bonds. got called up not too long after.
