Tony Joe White was WAY BETTER than most in his class musically BY FAR. He worked real hard all his life to earn the respect he truly deserves as a singer / songwriter, and guitarist! He was a staple favorite of most musicians who had any really good taste for music. It still baffles me why no record company, or D.J's ever gave him fair respectful airplay.... He would've been much more successful throughout his musical career and life!! R.I.P. Tony Joe White.... Gone but not forgotten....
Tony must’a been around the house the other nite….thunderstorms rolling in…everything was perfect for the blues…front porch swinging…RIP Tony we coming to see ALL YALL. KEEP Praying ✌🏼
Back in the early 80's, my band had no gig one night. We stopped in Mickey Crocker's Country bar in Tulsey town to hear Tony Joe White jam. We were introduced to him, and he invited us out to his bus for some conversation and drinks, and we had a great time getting to know him. After the show, we sat around shootin' the breeze with him, and we enjoyed the evening. He was an awesome guy and taught us a few tunings we didn't know, and we all went our separate ways. He never got the credit he deserved from the press and A & R folks, but he could sure jam. RIP TJW!
