Tony was an American Roots music treasure...kindred spirit...loved to fish as much as I do...took his time. He was an influence on Knopfler as well as JJ Cale....JJ Cale has the same vibe musically...warms my heart

Amen, huge fan of this man! Love all his music, his voice, the words, what he does with the guitar/harmonica. All started for me with Polk Salad Annie! So glad I explored to find these others!

There's a cold wind blowing
Downtown tonight
Oh, I'm all done
Walking around, I don't feel right

I'm so used to feeling warm
Having you hanging on my arm
I can't believe you just cut me loose
You're gonna look good in blues

They still got a cool band
In the little club where we used to go
But I don't feel the dance
Tonight I'm just too low

Oh, I gave it all I had
You say "Baby, well that's too bad"
But you'll have to pay the dues
And you're gonna look good in blues

Back in the real world
No dreams no plans
Keeping a low profile
Just getting by the best I can

But you can't kick a heart around
And leave it in pieces on the ground
Baby, it's gonna catch up with you
And you'll look good in blues
You're gonna look good in blues

Different level stuff, to watch and listen to musicians playing at the top of their game is just magical.

This guy reminds me of the late John Martyn. RIP Tony & John 🍻

Tony Joe White was the real deal. I always thought he was a giant. Only in the last few years are folks finally realizing his genius. I grew up in Indiana and he was on my turntable constantly.

somehow you get a feeling from that music that he's a good man...that is a super cool thing to say about Tony Joe White

RIP Tony Joe one of the best

Rest in peace brother thanks for your soul

You are right Mark. A good feeling from a good man.
          RIP  TJW
      A Good Man

So underrated, a real giant of the blues, killer voice and writing

I was lucky, I saw him once in Paris , few years ago.Wonderful !!

Saw him quite a few times and had the pleasure to meet him, a southern gentleman and a great talent. A real complete original.

Sad, he had the Motown sound and the blues down. soul man, and gone too soon.

And that is the great Roger Hawkins on drums and David Hood on bass, some of Muscle Shoals finest ever.

... you do get that feeling, that he is a good man. that's what blues does, it carries your emotions, your personality across... that's why most amazing blues musicians are also amazing humans...

The most laid back of the true blues men now passed into legend. Happy to play with EVERYBODY! The swamps are a little empty now.

He’s a very good man and he’s authentic, with no bells or whistles. And my god - his voice and guitar are in a category of their own. I’ve seen him in concert 3 times. What a legend. I’ve loved him for over 50 years

One of the most underrated musicians with a uniqe  sound and a magic giutar touch and most beautiful melodies and songs, even for other stars lik legend Tina Turner.
I really like his music as a bluse man and rocker. Swamp rock by Swamp fox.
(A 51 old music lover from Iran)❤

Lucky to have seen him live five or six times - such a talented guy - miss him so much and the wonderful sounds he created !
