Redcote in Leeds was a small settlement between Armley and Burley, close to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. It used to boast two dairy farms: Redcote Farm and Pasture Hills Farm. As recently as 1921 there were 56 people living at Redcote, looked upon by Armley House on Armley Ridge. But by 1963, the population count was zero and all the buildings had gone. Redcote Bridge, Redcote Lane and Lantern Lane are three of the few remaining clues to the history of Redcote. This video tells the story of the lost Leeds hamlet of Redcote.
